  • Wire 'minus' 50 energy credits

That was kinda strange when during nice talk with solicitous Morgan for my question if he could enter a pact with me the answer was:

yes, but you must wire -50 energy credits

it must have had something to do with the fact that i gave him a technology just a minute ago during this conversation. I do not recall earlier such turnout of the events. i had 44 credits, so i thought - nope, i'm short 6 credits, but that 'minus' looked suspicious, and when i clicked button:
    "wire -50 energy credits"
I got 94 credits on my account.
I wonder if he offered a pact from his side - he would give me that 50 credits?

Hmmm, thats quite interesting. I tried this in a PBEM once, as well (with wgabrie or Radman, can't remember which), where I sent him -1 EC, just to see what would happen. The other player accepted, but the 1EC was not deducted from his account, and on my turn I got confirmation of the transaction, but didn't receive the EC. Shrug - just one of those things, I guess....

Seen it a couple of times in single player games, basically the AI offering you money to pact them but they don't want to be seen as grovelling so they demand you pay them minus energy
Learn to overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone, for they warp the matrix through which we perceive the world. Extend your awareness outward, beyond the self of body, to embrace the self of group and the self of humanity. The goals of the group and the greater race are transcendant, and to embrace them is to acheive enlightenment.

Have you been extorted to pay 0 credits "fine" by AI? I have.

          So have I.

I have also been offered a zero energy credit donation to my environmental initiatives.

Once, an AI offered to pay me '-25 energy credits' for one of my technologies.
            I promptly refused.

You probably made the right decision there.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).
