  • question about viewing other factions' information

probably a dumb question to you experts, but... after i infiltrate somebody's datalinks, a screen comes up which lets me see who they're at war with, what SE choices they're running, etc. how do i get back to this screen if i want to see it again?

In the dip window on your lower right corner, right click the faction name, then faction profile.

You can also go from the menu, Social Engineering, like how you see your own info, you'll notice there are little icons representing different factions that you have infiltration on. Click on those will bring you to your infiltration files on them.

Well if you keep asking questions like this, not much.

Also what can be overlooked is:-

If you look at the base production, garrison and pop screen of another faction
(either thru infiltration or pact) and double click on a particular base, its geographical makeup and Gov screen will appear.

You can note what sort of units the base currently supports and how many are in the base.

Furthermore, as a bug, you can alter the specialist status of the workers in an enemy base from the F4 screen, by clicking and right-clicking on the population icons.

              Which is considered cheating.

Is it still cheating if you improve on the AI selections?

No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

You can improve on the AI's selections ?!!

Learn to overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone, for they warp the matrix through which we perceive the world. Extend your awareness outward, beyond the self of body, to embrace the self of group and the self of humanity. The goals of the group and the greater race are transcendant, and to embrace them is to acheive enlightenment.

i knew about F4 and double clicking on bases, but didn't know about the bug where you can change the AI workers! haha! i don't exploit bugs as a general rule, but maybe i'll screw around with this for fun sometime.

Right now my Data Angels are very ahead of all other factions in tech research so I'm not sure if this is the case. I recall while looking at other factions' techs and if they have one that you don't have, that particular tech will be listed using a different font color? Or do I have to do it the hard way and compare my list of techs to his?

My experience is if you look a faction's profile from the right dip window, you'll see a star beside the tech you don't have. But if you start from the left menu then you don't see the stars.

Thats correct-- IF I look at the tech situation using the F2 screen, you don't get the stars but if you look at the faction profile from the dipl box you do see them-- both methods require infiltration, of course

Hmmm *stratching my head* dipl box being the commlink window? If right-click there, you can see their techs, that's what I've been doing.
