I don't use the global base list. I figure out Base B-drone level, from infiltration and from observing effects such as adjusting SE settings and building new bases etc.

Figuring out the B-drones especially in the very early game is like one big logic problem. After you've passed the second b-drone limit it gets easier and you have more data to work with.

I really can't enjoy SMAC if I have to sit there with a calculator. Too much "planned economy" for me.
