CPU not supported?

I have a 1.8 gig Pentium 4, and am running Win XP. When I try to run the game, I get a message saying that my cpu is not supported. I've tried the latest update, and the XP patch. Any ideas?

A:Edit the Alpha Centauri.ini file so that it contains the following lines at the start of the file:
[PREFERENCES]
ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=1

I can't find the ini file.

If you did a default installation, it should be in this directory:

C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri

If you do not show the files extentions (.ini). Try enable the extention in windows explorer of look for the two text files labled aphacentauri. The one with the litle yelow gear symble on its icon is the ini file. The other is the alphacentari.text file. Do not mess with that one.
