  • Interludes - A Question

Is it just me or does Cha Dawn (Cult of the Planet) in Alien Crossfire, not seem to get any Interlude messages in the single player game? I have installed all the latest patches, yet for some reason when I play this faction I don't ever get any interlude screens. Is this an Alien Crossfire related problem? Any thoughts would get helpful.

P.S. The interludes used to work, although never with this faction.

The only thing I can think of: Did you look in the Audio/Visual Preferences menu to see if Interludes got turned off?
I am on a mission to see how much coffee it takes to actually achieve time travel.

Yes, the Audio/Visual Preferences menu would be my bet too, but apparently he is getting the interludes with the other factions, or so it seems.
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

No, I get all the "Tech" interludes and everything. I have just spent a hour or so starting out a new game with every faction (all 14) and every one except "The Cult of Dawn" has the "Story" interludes. Its not really a major thing, just a bit curious as to why? Was this a design decision because Cha Dawns background is so different from the other factions?

Like I say, every other factions gets the little story interludes, just not "The Cult of Dawn". Maybe its just meant to be like that eh? The thing that lets you know your not going to get the interludes is that the alien ships crashing message does not appear. It would of been nice if Firaxis had made a unique story for "The Cult" kinda like they did with the aliens, but hey its a great game and its only a very minor thing.

Anyways, I talk to much and had better be going to bed, but I'll leave you with the questiom - Does anyone get the story interludes for "The Cult of Dawn"?

Yeah, you should get one after the first couple of turns when the aliens crash land. Oh well, it must have been left out on purpose. Glad its not just me!

doesn't the cult start later than everyone else, like the aliens do? i thought i head it, though i never play them

i also seem to be missing the manifold nexus interlude (and yes, i explored each tile)
                  meh.

I started about a dozen games in which the Cult was one of the factions. Some games I was the Cult, other games I chose another faction. Went into the scenario editor as soon as the game started. Here's what I found: If you play as the Cult, then your first turn is MY 2106. However, all other factions also start in MY 2106. (In other words, no other faction had founded a base or moved a unit before the Cult's first turn.)

On the other hand, in those games where I played as a non-Cult faction, I started in MY 2101. Again looking in the scenario editor, the Cult was not to be found. They don't show up until MY 2105 or 2106.

Whenever I play as the Cult, I always assumed that I was starting 5 or so years later than everyone else. Now it seems that's not true.

I think then Cult would start same Time as the other MP's?
