  • Get rid of bases on Citizen w/o atrocity?

    Hi,
I am in the middle of a game at citizen. I just took a base that was so close to mine that i didn't want it. I don't want to commit an atrocity, so what else can i do?

Alternately, you can build colony pods until it is disbanded. If that isn't fast enough for your purposes, starve the base down to pop 1 and then build a CP.l

I second this approach: let the bas**rds starve to death!

I'm also doing it this way. Turn all citizens to specialists (Librarians, Engineers etc) and they even will do a good work. Don't take their sacrifice for the major good lightly.
Why doing it the easy way if it is possible to do it complicated?

Except that he's on citizen level, so that last CP won't disband the base.

Tis a good point. Therefore, you'll need a majority in the Planetary Council in order to repeal the Charter. Get bribing!

works for me on all levels

If you use Governors in your bases and you choose Forced Emigration, Population Relocation, or Colony Pods to eliminate the captured base, make sure there is no Governor in that base or it will keep moving your workers around and trying to build things to prevent the depopulation (even if you change the Governor settings).
When you build Colony Pods to accomplish the task, send them to your smaller bases and use them to raise their population.
I use this method to dismantle enemy bases on a shared border so I can put my own new bases where I want them as I grow into the enemy's former territory.
You can also use those Colony Pods themselves to establish the new bases. This is strange . If you keep the base, you get Drones among the conquered populace. If you ship them off in Colony Pods, they are just another lot of happy workers .
I am on a mission to see how much coffee it takes to actually achieve time travel.

If you nerve gas a base that's already at 1, you'll eliminate it. Human factions don't mind that and will stay pacted to you if are playing an Alien. Note that nerve gas won't generate pollution if used by an Alien against Human factions.

thanks for all the responses. I managed to get rid of the base by convoying a nutrient to my nearest base. The next turn... *poof* gone.
