  • just a question??

    And perhaps a silly one

Does anyone know what happens if u got elected Supreme Leader in conditions that does not provide immediate victory.
I mean, if some factions revolt, or if the aliens are present and u get elected, u will not be considered winner till u have removed those factions militarilly. But what about the other factions. Those that have accepted your victory. Will they become submissive as if they have surredndered, or will nothing happen at all???

Don't remember seeing this in the manual, but perhaps i didn't read it very carefully

Last time I played SinglePlayer (SMAC, 2 years ago), I remember that when one faction revolted all the other became Pacted automatically (*regardless* if they actually voted for me as SL), but I can't recall whether they were actually submissive or just Pacted.
From the manuals you could assume that only conquest victory is avaialble after a faction rebels to you.
Instead, nothing happened automatically when I eradicated the rebel faction, but I could run for Supreme Leader again and get the Victory.
I don't exactly know what I mean by that, but I mean it (Holden Caulfield)

They are IMO ordinary Pacts, so that your Great Alliance to Rid the Infidels can be foiled by convincing the others to break. Then you'd have to try to get re-elected, and might end up fighting more and more factions.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

IIRC, you can't even bring the Supreme Leader option to the floor for a vote until the alien factions are eradicated.

All alien factions need to be eradicated before you can try for supreme leader. The option will be there but if there are still aliens you will get a message saying so. You need 3/4 of the vote of remaining factions to be elected to supreme leader. Any faction(s) that voted against you, or the opposing factions, will need to be crushed with the help of loyal factions before you can win by being supreme leader. One important note here, if you plan to win by the supreme leader don't let your diplomacy rating get to infamous, else you will have to crush everyone yourself to win. A good diplomatic rating such as noble or faithful makes it fairly easy to win this way.
I have seen the truth, and it makes no sense.

If you succed to elect yourself the Supreme Leader and one or more faction defy you then everyone else will pact (not sure if they are submissive or just pacted) with you and will help you destroy your enemy. There's however a problem as I see it. You can't contact any factions at all when this happens, how can you re-elect yourself?

never mind my question. you don't need to "contact" anyone when voting for supreme leader.
