Jaydo? She was just an innocent who got a weapon because of the foolish action to open up the armory....

The talent that died... I forgot about her.... and here comes the inconsistency... the start of Arrival, the story behind SMAX, Aki Jaydo dies.... and later Function Zeta-Five 'reincarnates' her. However, Aki Zeta's profile is that of a woman named Aki Luttien, who was a scientist under Zarhakov, who was ordered to perform illegal experiments, and was missing at planetfall, and later showed up as Aki Zeta. They assume the algorithim that Zarhakov had her working with was what did it....

As far as I know, in Arrival, there never is an "Aki" Jaydo. Her name is Sarah Jaydo.

Aki Zeta-5 comes from a woman named (unusually) Aki Luttinen. (I renamed her to Aka Luttinen, because "Aki" is a male name in Finnish.)

In my opinion, although Alien Crossfire made the game even better and was well worth it, the storyline spiralled downwards from there. The storywriters didn't seem to have a very tight control of consistency or continuity, and gimmick characters like Cha Dawn show that quite plainly.

I had thought I remembered a Sarah too... however, just looked at the official Arrival story on Firaxis website and....

            Arrival, Episode 1

"Very well, move her aside. Talent…" he checked the identity tab on her wrist. "Talent Aki Jaydo, time of death…seventeen-oh-seven metric hours."
The bearers carried the next man over, a Citizen holding one burned limb to his side. The man was soaked through from the downpour, burned wet cloth clinging to his wounds. His black eyes looked haunted.
Outside, the thunder of battle continued.

Well, my SMACX manual states 'Miyuki Yaydo' in the Arrival chapters included.

It is Aki Jaydo in Arrival and Sarah Jaydo in Journey to Alpha Centauri. Are they supposed to be the same person, or are they simply related? Anyone want to ask Michael Ely?

I've always assumed that Sarah Jaydo was a Spartan. Her calm and cruel manner indicates Spartan training, as well as the emphasis in survival in her talks. In addition Spartans are the ones that are most likely to have access to weapons.

But MPS is correct, Jamski is behind all these.

Ah, but the Spartan's tend to be controlled, and besides, all of them were supposed to be at their pods!

Yes however this one is on a suicide mission dispatched by Santiago herself who in her turn is mindcontrolled by the most sinister Jamski

I think by this time the story mentions that everyone has weapons (it is mentioned, internally, by Garland when Sarah Jaydo confronts him IIRC).
