Cash is more flexible and its easier to boost energy with facilities than minerals, athough its hard to buy minerals for less than 2ecs/mineral, so you could argue minerals are twice as valuable - its more complicated to buy energy with minerals though. Stockpile is hardly the best way to rake the cash back.

Aha. It is just that I have heard "energy parks" mentioned a lot, and not "mineral parks".

There's no mineral parks captain. The highest payout of mineral if I'm correct would be a borehole on a mineral bonus. But you can't build boreholes together (thus no parks).

The closest thing to a mineral park I've done is 8 mine/road/rocky tiles around the top of Mount Planet crawled for 5 minerals each! Wow!

I suppose you could do boreholes tight as possible (checkered pattern?) and terraform remaining tiles into rocky then mine and road them.

I don't know if that's possible alto, I rarely terraform that way.

Even if it's possible, I'm highly doubtful that it's worth the time and resources diverted away other aspects of the game.

One quick question - I rarely use boreholes myself, it's one of things I need to start to practice doing. I'm such a carebear - I avoid ecodamage as much I can . Anyway altitude factor in how much energy you can get from a tile is still in effect with a borehole?

No. Borehole energy is not related to altitude.

Upgrade costs consider special abilities only so far as they alter the cost of the new unit. Special abilities on the old unit do not affect the cost AT ALL. However, some special abilities cannot be added when upgrading, particularly heavy artillery.

So on a boreholed tile, there is only energy from the borehole or is it borehole energy plus altitude energy?

Just for the sake of clarification.

The energy from a borehole is not affected by the altitude.

I'm asking about the total energy output of that particular tile which happens to have a borehole.

Altitude only affects tiles with solar collectors in them.
