  • WTF do ICS and IIRC mean???

I played SMAC when it came out for a long time, and recently got SMAX and started playing again when I Diablo 2 got lame... All of the acronyms people use have been pretty easy to figure out, since they're mostly the better techs/SP's ... but there are two I just can't figure out, even after analyzing their usage.

ICS - some borg-esque method of thin expansion?

Efficiency hurts a lot more in SMAC than it does in civ2 - ICS is not nearly as efficient, and I can imagine the drones to be murderous.

Diedre + Cloning Vats + Manifold Harmonics + max tech = Size 41 bases with out external nutrients assuming your not using ICS and all squares have been terraformed to fungus.

IIRC - Indonesian Internet Relay Chat? Or some kind of industry / unit production term that I can't figure out at all...

IIRC non-combat units can drop in enemy basezones only if Pacted.

My experience has been that drop units can move after the drop but the act of dropping causes damage (about 30% IIRC)

A spore launcher will attack your spore launcher, and an IoD will attack your see lifeform, as will (IIRC) a Sealurk.

The sealurk is cheaper than an IOD (by 1 row IIRC) so that's an advantage.

JAMiAM is being far too polite; I've always heard ICS translated as Infinate City Sleaze...
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.
