Why would they be embarrassed by something they intended as a joke in the first place? Has no one noticed the frequent use of the word "silly" in various SMAX text files? And then there are the somewhat comic names, descriptions, and appearance of the new stuff. Don't have it; don't want it; will never miss it.

I play the SMAX expansion almost exclusively, and this is simply because of the added bells and whistles for the game, both modible and non-modible.

Alien Crossfire, like SMAC, is the best game 'investment' I've ever made. Period. I highly recommend it.

There are 6 posted copies of Alien Crossfire on Amazon.com, and more for MAC and Linux. I found that after a very brief search. So, anyone who says they can't buy it is (conveniently?) not looking very hard.

And just to be clear, if you don't get AC you won't starve. Gaming is a luxury. So put the strained analogies and self-righteous rationalizations on the shelf, please.

I just want to buy a legally obtained, licensed copy of the game at a reasonable price from a reputable and easy to deal with seller.

I fail to see why Firaxis doesn't sell the expansion itself.
