  • MY-2203 [actually 2202(2)] Planning & Execution Thread

Opened turn - no hostile actions yet by Gaians or Angels.

    Some moves
    • Founded Southport
    • Sailed the 70% damaged Njord into 3Nuts for repair
    • Sailed the Invincible and the Disco Volante into 3Nuts as well
    • Landed the F-8 that was providing CAP
    • Brought the Iaci and the slow trannie into Southport
    • Upgraded Southport's defender from scout police to HomeGuard (3res AAAPolice) for 120 credits

Will now go thru base by base and deploy crawlers (or use them for MM'ing facilites)

I'll post a midturn after a couple of handfuls of moves

WOW - our pop grew by 13, versus 3 for the Gaians, 2 for the Angels, and zero growth for the Hive!!

Which means the Gaians have turned from growing bases to building stuff. Who wants to bet the are making units?
      Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

        Continued moves …………….
        • LOL – Yang has plonked a base just 4 tiles from Minas Tirith, and has appropriated into his territory the just-completed MT borehole. So sent a crawler to work the minerals and gave it F-8 CAP
        • Loaded the Mercury at Port Vander and sailed it south to 42:26 ( a seafungus tile north of Socialism Tunnels). Sent the GeneralTacticus to protect, and CAP’ped with an F-6 from Port Vander
        • sent two Chaos rovers and a scout rover to port Vander to board the next trannie
        • F-8 from Paramiria to Engineering Corps HQ, en route for the southern front
        • B-8 en route to Vijay landed there to refuel
        • Mercury-class trannie heading south from Gagarin Memorial hugs coast and ends on a seafungus tile just northeast of the Fossil Ridge
        • sent an F-8 to CAP it
        • B-8 in Vijay redeploys to ARC
        • Flying Fungal Gin Freighter reaches Fort Soup safely
        • relocated the MI-6 from Interstellar to Port Vander – will board the next trannie
        • Relocated a drop policeman from Interstellar to TRC – will MM a crèche there next turn to foster growth to size 9
        • Started the Chaos Amphirover at Fort Mead towards Port Vander, and put a CDF in production at Fort Mead, to quell anticipated drone problems when the base expands
        • Brought some more B-8’s from Vijay to ARC
        • redeployed an F-8 from Sparta Command to 2Nuts Strand
        • dropped the 2 other rover drop probe teams in the suburbs of Ass Red
        • brought the SCC Vladivostok out of Defiance Freehold north into the geothermals – it will provide escort duty to the unarmored Mercury-class trannie heading south about a dozen tiles to its north
        • did the fungus-rumble with the five fungus brigades, but nada (Mt Taygetusm northeastern Arcadia, central Arcadia, southeastern Arcadia, and the IoD sneaking north between Angels’ and Gaian continents
        • rehomed Bunker-112’s crawler to ARC – currently crawling just 1 mineral, but will change to nuts crawling next turn (or MM a Tree Farm there)
        Build Orders
        • MM’d a tree Farm at Red Fungus resort with their crawler and 130 credits
MM’d a Tree Farm at Fort Buster with its crawler and 130 credits (needs a Hab Complex next turn)
        • MM’d an Aerospace at ARC for its crawler and 70 credits
        • MM’d a Hab Complex at Messena for its crawler and 70 credits
        • Minas Tirith needs a Hab Complex before it can grow, so have put a speeder supply in production there that can MM a Complex in 2 turns’ time

          Small things to do:
          • Change worker working 1-nut fungus tile in Olympus Academy to Engineer.
          • Maybe a supply crawler Mk4 in Santiago Citidel, in preparation for MM-ing a hab complex?
          • Move worker at Robotics Research Center from 2-nut tile to 1-1 tile.
          • Change doctor in Arcadia Regional Command Center to Engineer (the base still shouldn't riot if it grows next turn, although after that it will need a doctor).
          • Rush creche at Vijayanagar.
          • Turn two 1-nut workers at Twonuts Strands to Engineers

Whoa, are the sea levels rising? I noticed that the following cities and units are sitting at 10m and are endangered:
              • Rio Grande
              • The two crawlers along the lower stretches of the Rio Grande River
              • Red Fungus Resort
              • Vladivostok

We have several options. We can build pressure domes in those bases and move those crawlers off of those 10m areas, or we can hurriedly raise those areas of land. Or we could do both (first pressure domes, then land raise). But we need to act quickly.

On a totally unrelated note, is there any chance that we could ever fly a sortie of chaos tacticals over to the west coast of Gaialand and aerially destroy those two boreholes over there? That would be sweet. We'd probably lose the planes in the process, though. Would it be worth it? Or maybe we can set the infiltration force to that task?

Ah - just noticed the earlier post with recommendations. Some are incorporated in this latest save - i'll go in and make the others

                Wrap-up moves:
                • moved 2 F-8’s from Westpoint towards Vijay
                • Moved 2 choppers to Mendelev
                • Moved 3 B-8’s from Scapa Flow to Gagarin
                • F-8 en route from Craterwest to Port Vander encountered – and destroyed – a Gaian IoD at 45:17
                • Ran a westwards sortie from 3Nuts Crag into Gaialand – at 61:65 it looks like they have a Plasma AAA rover unit guarding a crawler working the mine there
                Rush Builds
                • Assassins Redoubt – speeder supply crawler for 6 credits
                • Defiance Freehold – crawler for 12 credits
                • Hindenberg Rock – terraformer for 5 credits
                • Craterwest – Speeder supply for 8 credits
                • Vijayanagar – Creche for 26 credits
By and large, I went thru base by base, and tweaked for dcotors where another pop was coming in as a drone next turn. Also, i put speeder crawlers in production pretty much everywhere when there wasn't a clear imperitive.

Put an X-Chaos bomber in production as well

edit: save removed as superceded by a later version

                  Incorporated the suggestions

Also moved some of our probe teams to run covert ops guard duty in Uni bases (Dunno what he did with thsoe that he had there)

Changed sliders to advance biomachinery from 3 turns to 2

                    Excellent.

Question: once we get the cloning vats, will we switch to power? And if we will, then will we need any more bioenhancement centers? I would think not, considering that all of our new units would be instantly elite from command centers/naval yards/aero complexes + SE Morale rating.

Note: By my calculations, switching to police/power and getting a +4 support rating (support up to base size for free) would increase our mineral output by 154 minerals/turn if it were enacted this turn. It would increase our mineral output per turn by over 26%. I think when we get a chance to feasibly do this switch (after the cloning vats are finished), we should do it.

An added benefit of switching to power is it keeps the Gaians guessing and fearful that we may rush them at any moment. I guess either way, whether we pick knowledge or power, there will be benefits.
