      Message is good for me.

The Corporation put a truce in the diplobox in-game. Shall we put in minus 98 credits ourselves and press accept already?

Also, should we send a message approving their decision not to build any more offensive non-SAM needlejets? Something like:

We see you have refrained from building more offensive non-SAM needlejets, and have kept at producing fighters. We appreciate this decision and hope you will continue with it, as it makes a permanent peace far more viable. Now we do not feel threatened and don't have to both engage in an arms race. As economists familiar with Game Theory, I'm sure you'd agree an arms race is good for neither of us.

        Here's my amended version:

In principle, the Federation is willing to consider dealing with the Corporation from a fresh perspective, but first we must insist that due payments unlawfully withheld be repaid immediately.

We refer, of course, to the 48 credits' suspended payments for Ethical Calculus, and the 50 credits that were unilaterally deducted from due payments by the Corporation

If, in this next Mission Year - 2170 - the Corporation can make restitution of these basic amounts, then the Federation will be open to negotiation regarding other real or perceived past injustices - on both sides. In addition, the Federation will be prepared to sign a Formal Truce in 2170, such truce to last until such time as differences are resolved, and we can proceed to treaty or even Pact status, or are deemed irreconcilable by both parties, in which case an uneasy truce will continue at the pleasure of the Corporation and the Federation together.

Without this clearing of the initial debt, however, the Junta struggles to see how a fresh start could be possible.

Note, however, that we have honoured the cease fire while this Conference is in session, notwithstanding the undermining of genuine peace efforts by some attendees who have been active in ensuring the widespread proliferation of Air Power throughout Chiron

Looking nice while we prepare to take over the world. What else did you think any talks were for?

Sort of. Yang will probably leave us no choice but to clobber him good.

                  And it sounds great.

Especially right after that joke Snoddasmannen pulled.

Sorry about that, I just felt they were being too melodramatic

No need to be sorry. I had my laugh, and it fitted with Googlie's post almost as if it was planned.

                          Suckers.

I am happy to see that bullying did work after all. Remember we were aiming for a straight peace as the main goal? This is just great.

EDIT: What about the Gaian offer? Do we accept? Do we ask they allow us to cross the choke point at any time?

                            Good point.

I'd insist on rights of passage as a precursor to peace - after all, it was their blockade that started the war with them anyway (at least, that's part of our official reason - that and their Pact with the Morgan faction)

Oh, too, and the fact that we were itching to bully someone .....

But the right to sail a task force - or probe - to Yang's southern course should be ours without asking

                              EDIT ABOVE:

Pity we can't slap a Spartan seabase on that chokepoint ..................

Wooho! I think the fact that we're spartans and the connotations that go with being a militaristic faction has both the money grubbers and the tree huggers shaking in their boots.

Of course we also killed their captial city but thats minor compared to the percieved might of the Spartan Federation.
Bullying is awsome! Now lets come up with a reason to force the seabase near that gaian chokepoint
                                -=/+\ Wuy3 /+\=-
