    Some brilliant suggestions Googlie!!

    Economy
    • Fort Liberty production hurried with 6 credits.
    • Twonuts Strand production hurried with 6 credits, and worker switched from 3nuts to 1mine tile.
    • Rearranged a SC3 and GB worker so that FB still has a small nut surplus after the drought there.

    Army
    • MT elite missile rover and infantry charge through the fungus and attack the Hive rover stack. B-4 gives them air cover. Two Hive rovers (including the artillery) remain, 60% damaged. Our missile infantry took 10% damage.
    • The Jaded Jaguars flamed the remaining Gaian worms.
    • Iacish hoplite leaves Iaci Base to hunt for the spore launcher.

    Navy
    • SCC Minas Tirith escorts the Tiger's Claw, tries to bomb the road or sensor array on (48.32) but fails.
    • The SCC GeneralTacticus heads straight to Gagarin Memorial.
    • The SCC Vladimorei moves out of the fungus heading to Gagarin Memorial, but decides with its last MP to have a last go at the Invincible Forest near Whohabitat. DESTROYED!!!
    • SCC Njord sails south and attempts to bomb (21.15) but fails.
    • SCC Iaci sinks the Gaian Unity foil.
    • SNC Hermes is heading to the Styx Straits.

    Air Force
    • B-4 destroyed former and crawler near Morgan Vulcanology. 30% damaged though.
    • Three other B-4s fly back, two to SC3, one to RG so we can strike at that crawler on (34.12) next year.
    • OA B-4 rehomes at SC1 and flies further to MT.
    • B-4 flies from Mendelev College to Fort Superiority for repairs.

    Engineering Corps
    • Tomcat-SCW2 heads to the dried up tile to plant a forest to replace the forest.
    • Tomcat-SC2 moves a tile SE.

    The morale upgrade program
    • Minas Tirith being sufficiently secured, the Steppenwolfs and the impact and missile infantry continue to the Olympian monolith. The impact infantry has been rehomed to Sparta Command.
    • The SC1 hoplite moves a tile north and upgrades to elite.

      • 13 does the same at Citadel
      • I make it 15 ec's to complete the missile arty unit at MT next turn (or do we suffer a suspension of current minerals' production during an arty attack?)
AFAIK for IH & SC2 it would be cheaper to hurry in one go next year (when more minerals have been accumulated, reducing the cost per mineral) than a bit this year and a bit next year. Especially for SC2 since the first ten minerals haven't been accumulated yet.
(Haven't calculated it precisely though - just a hunch )

As for MT, I was indeed thinking to hurry fully in case that artillery shells our terraformation. Ok, or hurry only just enough?

Then we can gift it to Zak, who is Treatied with Yang (or, on the assumption that Yang calls us up to demand the base be returned, get a truce from him in exchange, and maybe persuade him to side with us against Morgan)

This has another huge advantage - the Ogre gets returned to our nearest base - in thiis case, MT, and can then deploy to use its +2 POLICE status in a needed base
While I initially liked this plan, after giving it some further thought, I detected some possible worries.

First some facts. AFAIK R-112 could repair 10% next turn. This means a 8.25 rover with 70% health would face a 4.37 garrison (perimeter, sensor). According to Snoddasmannen's combat simulator, chance for victory would be exactly 75%. Sufficient?

Also according to my experience, your units don't always teleport back to your nearest base when you give away a base. Sometimes the units in the base and IIRC even next to the base also transfer over to the other faction. And I don't know what causes this. So who knows we could lose our Ogre this way.

Also giving the University a former Hive base on the south side of the Hive would make them much more vulnerable for infiltration and tech theft by the Angels and Gaians.

Especially this last argument would make me vote against the plan to conquer Huddling of the People. I'd prefer your previous plan: R-112 & Ymir board the Heimdall which sails stante pede back home (or I wouldn't mind the R-112 staying around to harrass the Gaians), and the Pegasus sails back then to go pop that unity pod we left alone.

If we want to capture a Hive base to give it to Zak or get a truce with Yang, we'd better go for one of those bases closer to us in my personal opinion.

Some hurry orders and what to do with our Gaian taskforce are the only things left doing before we can forward this turn.

Get a Hive base and gift it to the Gaians. Would they accept?
        Seriously. Kung freaking fu.

In the sims I ran, upgrading to missile every time takes out the Hive defender, and every time I enter with the Ogre, then cede the base back to Yang, he signs a truce and we get the Ogre back in MT (and that's with the R-112 at 40% damaged - ie, I set up the units for this turn, and executed every time)

If we capture the base and want to give it to the Gaians, we need then to immediately vacate it for them to enter, but the Hive has oodles of units around it so they would just retake it themselves. In PBEM's there's no way to gift a base to another human player.

I think 75 % odds in favour of taking the base are worth it, esp if we can then use its return to buy peace with Yang for a few turns while we concentrate on Morgan (we do get a lecture on running fundy, so I imagine he'll gear up for a sneak attack somewhere). Oh, and in the sims I got the R-112 upgraded to Elite in 4 of 5 of the runs

We can then board the 2 rovers onto the Heimdall and do some serious harrassing of the Gaians, leaving the pegasus to run some marine podpops

So I'd be in favour of the taking - and ceding back to Yang - of Huddling of the People

I say we go get that short truce from Yang. Teleporting the Ogre at the same time is a nice thing too.

Truce signed with Yang using Googlie's method. Pegasus was already in range of Huddling of the People, so it could already be attacked this turn.

Heimdall has been moved right next to that unity pod, so we can pop it at the start of next year.

                MT production hurried.

That's it. Will give more explanation later, but now my sister wants the internet.

Further report on the Hive negotiations:
After signing a truce in exchange for Huddling of the People, Yang:
                      • advised us not to betray him like we did to the University
                      • demanded continuation of our loan payment, with added interests and penalties
                      • showed off his splendid brand new missile infantry prototype

                            hehe thx

but I noticed somethings wrong with your quote:
"To the meaningless Gaian idealisms of Peace, Harmony, and Empathy, we [who] oppose the Spartan realisms of Infantry, Cavalry, and Artillery."

the we part doesnt make too much sense, but its a quote so maybe he wrote it wrong and thats the inside joke?

I don't understand what's wrong with the we.
We / oppose / the Spartans realisms... / to / the Gaian idealisms...

For the record, the quote is a modification of:

To the meaningless French idealisms of Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity, we oppose the German realisms of Infantry, Cavalry, and Artillery
                              - Prince Bernhard von Bulow, German Chancellor

Which reminds me, since we're in a peace conference with the Gaians, perhaps it's time again to switch to another quote of my collection.
