Point taken about pagename - edit done

We prolly could, although we'd lose security for the chatroom (which we've never used till now anyway)

I'll tinker around with Bravenet to see if there's any way it can be password-protected the way the Aimoo Boards' chatroom was (although that was crappy, booting you out every five minutes unless you upgraded to their Platinum service at $120 per annum)

Good point. Maybe host the chat part at another address not linked to in this webpage. I'm guessing that we will be using the chat as we get further into the game when there are more things happening.

We could always use IRC, if downloading and using separate clients is not a problem. I can personally guarantee full security on CGN's server since I'm an oper there. Poly's server is also of course a possibility.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

Yeah, using the chat room on the website would be a great idea. We could make sure it was secure by giving out a password to all of the members (for instance, we could use "Morea".) Then, when someone logs on, we immediately ask them the password, and if they don't reply with Morea, we boot them out of the chat room. Or we could just keep the chat room secret. That would probably be easier.

I've tried to match it to the rollcall in our forum. There are a couple of inactives I've left in (Ogie Oglethorpe and Sir Ralph) but I don't think I'm missing any (except Rynn, who's more a character than a member)

Sir Ralph somehow accidently joined the Spartans. I let him in based on his reputation in the Civ3 demogames, but due to only accidently joining he left soon thereafter. As soon as he noticed, in fact. Alas, he would have been a benefit to the team.

And regardless of their inactivity, both Jamski and Ogie are to be treated as full members of our team. As you have done.

Ah, good point DBTS. I didn't realize that.

But, as of now, we are the only people who can get to the website, right? So we can just keep it secret until we don't need to use the chat room anymore. And the double password thing wouldn't hurt, just to be safe.

How were turnchats handled in the last ACDG? Where were they held?

Hive used to do MSN chats but it often turned into spamfeast with insane talks about lambs and coconuts so there were no turn chats any more in the late stage of the game.

Hmm - if we do use MSN or ICQ I could always delete the chatlink page and then publish the site generally

(Oh, and I've updated it to remove Sir Ralph, add responsibilities and some new content)

I've reactivated a very basic version of the Aimoo board, here:

Create a free forum & free message board in seconds. Aimoo provides the most fast and simple way to fully customize your free forum skin, upload images & videos with unlimited disk space.

                              (password: Morea )

It has a chat room that is a bit irritating in that it cuts every five minutes (but doesn't eject you completely - just have to relaod the board.

As the administrator, I still have a chat record that I can copy and paste to its forum board, so it's but a minor incovenience

Are there anything concrete in the chats that deserves a periodical browsing of the mods? Is the chat transcript saved in any way?

Oh and a nice thing about MIRC is that Method is always there.
