I would like to know your thoughts on the following:

Please consider a 10 year Pact where we would:



Exchange all our tech for all your tech;

your world map for our world map;

all your commlinks for all our commlinks;

your promise not to share (sell, trade, gift, etc.) tech, world map, and/or commlink received from us with anyone else for 4 years in exchange with our promise not to share (sell, trade, gift, etc.) any tech, worldmap, and/or commlink received from you with anyone else for 4 years; and

Your promise to vote for us in election for governor when we ask and your promise to vote for World Trade pact when we ask.

Your promise to not engage in any hostile action against us, including probe actions, in return for our promise not to engaged in any hostile action against you, including probe actions, for ten years.

Your promise not to send any ships/units within 6 spaces of Morgan cities/bases in return for our promise not to send any ships within 6 spaces of DA cities/bases, without prior notice and consent. Consent will not be unreasonably withheld (i.e. freedom of navigation through straights, safe harbor for damaged/units in need of refuge).



Please note that this is not a formal offer. It is something that I am considering. If both our factions find this acceptable then we could perhaps make it happen this next turn.

One question tho: Is this an all or nothing package the Corporation is considering, or are parts of it possible?

Also, in case this temporary pact goes through, who will break it? IOW, who's diplomatic trust will decrease towards the AI factions?

I hadn't thought about that. We could leave it as the Pact continues on a year to year basis after the 10 year period until one side wants to end it. Then the side that wants to end it would terminate the Pact.

That seems the easiest way to do it. Otherwise, the fairest way would be to choose some well know random event (50/50) that will occur in the future such as will the first number drawn of a specific major lottery, on a specific day, will be even or odd.

Pending approval from the rest of the Morgan team I believe we can offer the Spartan, Lal's, Zak's, and of course, Yang's commlinks. Whose commlink would you like in return for the Gaian commlink?

We also have Impac and Plasma. Which would you like in return for Optical?

I understand from Geo that there is some internal policy reason that hinders the DA's ability to enter into a Pact.

Can you let me know what that is so we can find a way to accomadate your needs? We would like to enter into a Pact so we can double the commerce income. With solar flares coming up next turn both of us could earn triple the amount normally available.

Spartans Running Away With the Game

I can confirm that we are now in Vendetta with the Spartans.

I understand you may have lost some units to the Spartan menace.

We too have lost units, and are concerned that the Spartans may be running away with the game. It may be too late to stop them, but I propose that we work much closer together to try to reign them in.

DA's Acceptance of Tech, Commlink, and Map Trade

I just received this from the DA

RE: Tech Trade

Director Mead,

Thank you for your message. We can reply at this moment. In response to your communication we would like to trade the following items:

1) Gaian commlink for Peacekeeper Forces commlink.

2) We would be willing to exchange Optical computers
technology for Plasma technology.

3) We agree for world map trade too, so this is confirmed.

Regarding the Pact between our factions, please be
informed that we presently are not in any other pact
agreement on the Planet. We seriously consider your offer,
though this require appropriate diplomacy also with other
factions. Neglecting other factions' opinion regarding
such important matter as our plans for entering pacts with
other factions might worsen our relations with these factions.

I hope I don't screw up the transfer of the promised items to them. Please someone walk me through the process and after I actually do it, verify to make sure I did it correctly.

If they pre-accept, you'll have to hit "accept" FIRST, before you put other items in. Adding things cancels their pre-acceptance. So, accept their gifts, then add our gifts, then accept again. Then when they open their turn, they can accept our stuff.

As it appears that we have lost Morgan Industies it is questionable as to whether we can continue.

I propose a Pact in order to attempt to turn back the Spartans. I believe you and us should also Pact with the Gaians.

Please let me know if you would be interested in tech trades that would allow both of us to reach a level of at least choppers.


We will get missiles this turn and get DAP shortly thereafter.

If we were to cooperate in our tech trades both of us could obtain DAP this turn and choppers very quickly.

I do not know if you got missiles this turn. If you did then I propose you send it to us. We then should be able to get DAP (instead of missiles) and then give DAP back to you. Then we can figure out how to trade to speed up both of our tech levels.
