A sea pod gave us Soc Psych. Switched to Eco Eng. Other choices were Initiative, Nonlinear, SotHB. We should try to get HEC and Eco Eng from the Spartans.
Spartans get 2 ec from 40% of treaty surplus. They recently acquired Env Econ, so they get a commerce bonus. Maybe we could get Env Econ from them, too??
Should we continue sending our Gator to the northeast, even though the Spartans will be on the lookout for it and might build a ship specifically for destroying it? The element of surprise is lost, too."Give to Caesar what is Caesar's? Pay no attention to Caesar. He doesn't have a clue what's really going on." -Cat's Cradle

Yay! So at least we got a free tech...
Please remember to post an end-turn-save, so I can update our maps from the game with all of our latest exploration data.
I think we should inform the Spartans that our gator boat is only an explorer and offer them to post an observer upon it... Should they agree, we could go on exploring to the northeast...Heinrich, King of Germany, Duke of Saxony in Cyclotron's amazing Holy Roman Empire NES

Pump out formers so we can have more forest for another round of CPs. If we want more to build tree farm big bases, we'll need more formers than for just PTS. We should also decide on a borehole grid. We can use the probe foil to make contact with the faction below us, and use the transport to ferry probe teams over to Zak to grab tech. We might even rehome a speeder defender to Morgan Mussels and have it go over as protection. We could send over 1 move probes, especially since there is a road leading to the city.
It's worth noting that the Angels have Adapt. Eco. (they were a bit to slow and doc: flex, so we might put our defense probes towards the SW area.

The Hive will complete Superconductor next turn. They do one tech every 8 turns (compare to our 6). They have an income of 30 ec/turn. They loaned the Spartans at least 258 ec! This shows that the more powerful the AI is, the more it can be exploited. With this in mind, I'd like to build more 'Gator Boats.
Arginine, I was thinking that with Eco Eng around the corner, mines would be preferable to forest. But I agree that formers will be key to transforming our land as a next step. This turn I focused on getting the probe defenders we need-- two basic ones at coastal bases, one synth at inland bases.Attached Files"Give to Caesar what is Caesar's? Pay no attention to Caesar. EcoEng is coming soon.
What will we be terraforming up?
Was the consensus to go borehole gridding and can we actually relocate our cities without having to abandon any cities with SPs in them?

Excellent turn! Though the cooperation between Spartans and the Hive is quite worrying, since they were saying they prepared for a war against Yang.Heinrich, King of Germany, Duke of Saxony in Cyclotron's amazing Holy Roman Empire NES

Aren't loan payments suspended during a war? I would expect them to grab some PK cities before a war with Yang.
Also, we can just steal Eco Eng and other techs from the Uni. I'd turn our tech rate down and borrow from Zak. A borehole grid is good.
Since the Spartans have already infiltrated us, we need less probe defenses on their side. I'd prefer us cranking out CPs or formers, but we do need some defenses and our synth lawyers require no payment. I think 1 or 2 laser foils patroling in the SW would provide some advance protection against incoming probe team incursions.Last edited by arginine; December 17, 2004, 10:40.

Heh heh heh. So many lawyers. We should get that foil to work on shuttling lawyers over to the Uni mainland and start buying real estate and tech. The one move probe teams are preferable to use in bulk in my opinion (cheaper) and if one can use a road (like the one leading into Climactic Research). The Uni is half price, and the Spartans have captured the Uni HQ (important in calculating buyout costs).
We might even be able to be sneaky and infiltrate the Spartans from the east, overland
If we get decent terms with the Spartans, we could grab some Uni land cheaply. I'd make for some more ICS space.
