The CEO sank down in his chair at last. It had been many years since he'd last been here, and much had happened in the mean time. What he had left as a small conglomerate, held together only by string it had seemed, was now a massive faction, rivalling all but the hive. His subordinates had done well.
Of course, if more medicinal research had been carried out, then maybe he'd have been back sooner, but beggars can't be choosers. Of course it would take many years to discover a complete cure for cancer, but the gene splicing techniques had gone very well indeed. His new liver was functioning normally, and the scars had all but disappeared.
But that was all in the past, and now, there was a lot of work to do. Hopefully it wouldn't take too long to get back in to the organisation, yet he knew it would take some time.
But for now, there were certain pleasures that a man needs after some twenty years in stasis. He called for his “secretary”.

It's been a while.... sorry for disappearing without any notice. I had some medical issues (Although not liver cancer like the good CEO.) which kept me off a computer for a good while.
Am back now, although I'm still trying to catch up with everything that's happened. Looking good I think
