  • We Have Commlinks for Deidree, Roze and Santiago?

After I downloaded the last turn I clicked on the the Commlink Button.

To my surprise I saw that we had Commlinks to all the human factions.

    Was this intentional?

Is it one of those democracy game things that happpens, but you ar not allowed to use until you make actual contact?

    I do not know.

Can someone more experianced in these matters (Drogue please) let us know what we are allowed to do?

If we are allowed to contact the other factions then I think we should consider who to contact and how.

I am not sure (assuming that we are allowed to contact the others in the commlink screen) that the other factions know that we have their commlinks, and perhaps vice versa.

This being true we may want to carefully weigh who we will contact.

Can we contact the others listed in the Commlink screen? Is it for real? Or is it just a product of a democracy game, meaning we cannot contact the other factions until we actually meet them?

In every PBEM, you start out with commlinks to other human factions. Under most rules, you're not supposed to use them until you have actual contact. At that point, the computer assigns Truce next to the commlink until some other status is assigned, via treaty, or vendetta via attack, etc.

Can you right-click on the human factions and see their SE settings and is that legal for PBEMs?

Yes, that's legal. Same for checking the techs with left click, "share tech". That's per Googlie from last game.

          Thanks for the info.

I thought it was too good to be true, but thought I should ask.

Good info about the SE and Techs.

Drogue perhaps should be consulted regarding the share tech trick. Although I suspect he would say yes since it is really no way of monitoring.
