    Turn so far:

The Spartans founded a single base last turn. I'm starting to think the angels turned both their colony pods into one base...

Attacked fungal tower, won fight, got morale upgrade. Took 60% damage. 10e.c. gain.

Founded Morgan industries next to pod. It's also next to pod to it's south. Lets wait until InfNet to pop it, and try and get a network node Production changed to synth garrison - the most expensive thing we could pop.

Popped pod. Energy bonus (Very strange that, I don't think I've EVER popped an energy bonus as my first pop. It's almost always a monolith or a nut bonus.) Changed MorInd back to scout

Moved the CP down SW. This is another rainy rolling square on a river

We can either move the CP down SW again and found on the moist flat square there, or found the base where the CP is now.

If we found the base now, we lose another rainy rolling square. We do gain 2 research points, 2 e.c., an extra turn with the scout and 2 mins, and perhaps more importantly, 2 nuts acumulated.

I'm slightly in favour of moving it, but that may be just my aesthetic concerns (). I'm going off line now for 12 hours or so, so we need to decide now, and I'll finish the turn tomorrow morning.

I say found it there. We can set up our optimal city grid later, and disband the city and move it if need be.

Also do we press our luck with the scout and try to pop the fungus pod?

Yes, pop both pods shown, they won't spawn worms with bases next to them. I'd plant base 2 now, Theres another 2/1/1 square right there to be used, and the extra turn buys lots of stuff. Besides, if this river proves to be sizable, pushing further southeast will just mean fewer bases that can harvest from the river.

I say found the city now. We only need one rolling rainy per city, and we'll have that. We'll be using forests for other workers, probably. That one turn of production will gain us a lot.

Ok, playing turn and founding base. Will fiddle with sliders to maximise tech.
