Due to pretty amazing turn of events I am forced to abandon Apolyton altogether for indefinite amount of time. If you feel need to do so, you can ask for a new private forum moderator.

Wow,ratspeople abandon the sinking ship..
What's happening here? Kody, Jamski, Flubber, Darsnan, you, not talking bout those countless people who just disappeared not saying a word..
I guess Firaxis should get up and going with SMAX 2, to get the fans back!-- What history has taught us is that people do not learn from history.

I wouldn't stress too much BT. These things tend to be cyclical. People find new games, or changes in jobs, new kids, etc. Some will disappear forever, others will pop right back in after a few weeks. But overall, people will always come back to a superior game. When someone releases the next SMAC, or a true improvement on Civ2, people will come back on mass. Until then, there will be a slow trickle of people lost, and it most often happens in bundles.
If I lost/left this job, I'd likely have to quit Poly. I just don't have that much free time at home, and when I do, I game, not post. The only reason I can post during work is the nature of the work I do. I could not have pulled this off with any other jobs I have had over the years.
Illuminatus has something more important do than chit-chat about a seven year old game, so be it. Hope he makes it back soon."They’re lazy troublemakers, and they all carry weapons." - SMAC Manual, Page 59 Regarding Drones

"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to greater danger. It works the same in any country." -- Hermann Goering

Sorry to see you go Illuminatus. Good luck with whatever you're planning on doing.
Oh yeah thanks for those ebooks you gave me. I enjoy reading them.
binTravkin: As for people leaving, it part of life. Some people will stay some people move on, new people will come along and they will be interesting, but you'll still miss the people that you knew because your own memories are tied up with them.
Nothing ever remains the same forever. It's unfortunate, but what's the point in living if everything is always the same.
livid imp: 7 years.... wow, you're making me feel old, because I remember playing the demo for SMAC and it didn't seem that long ago.

I think they were 1999.... either way, I remember playing the demos for them. And I'm still young.... In fact, SMAC was the main reason I got a computer. This from the kid whose current obsessions, other than Rome, are Arcanum - 4 years, SMAX - 6 years, Zork, and Colonization.

Blah. No luck. I can check in once every two weeks. I am sorry for abandoning you, but such is the turn of events. I can check in every two weeks but not for long. I estimate this will last until October if I am lucky.
I am mostly sorry because I have to significantly delay work on many projects regarding the nature SMAC setting and background, including some stories.SMAC/X FAQ | Chiron Archives

I will be offline till monday, so someone needs to do the turn.
I emailed NW about it.
If he's offline and turn's not done and time is nearing end, anyone can do it.
Better than just clicking "end turn".
Also could someone please forward the Eventis Forums address to ForesterSOF and inform him howto get authorised.
He's the new DA ambassador.-- What history has taught us is that people do not learn from history.
