  • Review of trade for EcoEng

Due to sunspots we are also hoping that you will quickly consider what you would be willing to pay us for Ecological Engineering. We are also considering a following leapfrog scheme that would benefit us both and the Angels. This is assuming you, the Gaians, are researching EcolEng.

    1. Sparta gives Gaians EcolEng.
    2. Gaia switches research to IntInt, provided they could get IntInt several years earlier than the Angels.
    3. Gaia gives us - and the Angels - IntInt when it's researched. What Gaia gets in return from the Angels, is up to them.
    4. The Angels switch research to Cyberethics (should that be possible), and give it to us when researched.

    Yours sincerely,

    Lt. Colonel Kassiopeia
We should accept this. However, there are some additional points. I propose asking Angels to agree in return for giving them EcoEng to turn over control of their SL in our teritory. Second, I'll ask CT about possibility of building PD. I doubt it would bring us much good, except we would get any tech traded to Angels from Sparta, however I am afraid we can't spare minerals towards such a rather modest SP. Am I right?

Also, how important is Cyberethics for us? If anyone has anything to comment, be free. Are Spartans aiming at HSA? How far are we from it? Should we ask Spartans not to build it in return.

Don't know how far from it we are, but Cyber is usually useful, to me at least, for Knowledge, and because it is needed for HSA, which would be a great advantage, depending if Sparta has intel on us yet.

Cyberethics is no good apart from being prereq for HSA.

I don't think there's any use of going knowledge in the next 30 yrs or so - Wealth is way more productive

Only if we decide to build PD - as there are still 7 factions, it could prove very useful..

Cyberethics is a nice tech, but doesn't get special attention in my games.

Yeah, like I said, to me. I'm generally peaceful though, not attacking unless provoked. So, the general consensus sounds like a go!

I sent a message to Kassiopeia to let Spartans know that we accepted, but I also told them that we are discussing some details with Angels. I'll ask Angels for their terms.
