  • Concerning Angels....

Our counterproposal regarding Social Psych trade before three weeks has been ignored - we never got their response, and now I presume they traded for it later from Spartans.
AntiMorgan intelligence pact is also mostly ignored, not having received anything about their opinion.
Research treary update is pending for more of a week now.
It may be lower activity, but with this waiting periods I think Angels are deliberatly ignoring messages. Also, Spartans "guessed" we are researching Ecological Engineering ( I doubt this could accidental leak - they can only know we are going for Eth Cal, plus they don't have nearly as much data to guess it accurately unless Angels informed them) - they have time to sell information about us to Spartans, while they ignore our offers. I think we should let them know about that.

    Draft message

I've noticed that Angels are ignoring much of our diplomatic transmissions lately:

Our counterproposal regarding Social Psych has been ignored by your side for more than two weeks.

Our antiMorgan intelligence pact has also been ignored for a similar time period.

And lastly, your update on Research treaty is being waited more than a week?

I must inform you that this is starting to make other players here very suspicious of your motives.

There is also valid assumption that you gave classified data about our research target to Spartans while ignoring our communication channels, which seriously damages our relations.

I ask you for quick response on all issues raised here. Council is currently debating future course of actions.

          Illuminatus,
          Your worries are unnecessary.
It is true that we have not attended the diplomacy very frequently recently, but also many other issues within our faction suffer. Many of our members are much less active recently and I have also my personal matters pending - my thesis defence is roughly scheduled for two months from now, and I am quite behind the schedule. I could ask for a replacement in our embassy, but believe me presently I can hardly see anyone willing and also be able to deal with it. There are two new members recently active, but since they are new, it would be better if they spent more time within the faction before taking care of diplomacy. Also, Hercules mightl take over, but I haven't asked him yet. Anyway with holiday period over I hope for some increased activity in our faction.

We do not have any unfriendly agenda toward the Gaian Union. In fact, the last dealing with Spartans showed that they are rather reserved towards us.

What kind of information you think was released by Data Angels to Spartan Union?

I will prepare the official response to all open issues you indicated here in possible fastest way.

          Sincerely,
          Mart
          My reply
Gaian Union is also experiencing troubles with activity rest assured , however there are no new members to fill in, forcing me to intervene again in all matters.

Spartans have reapproached us again, offering some leapfrogs that include all three of our factions and reassuring us that they need no help in war against Morgans. However, what is of grave concern to us is the fact Spartans have detailed knowledge of our longterm goals. Facts that they know details about our research plans and they are completely confident in their correctness are of grave concern to us - you are the only possible way they've could have gotten the info. Infact, their communication deliberately seems to imply you. Although they are surely attempting to break us apart, question is how they managed to get info? Concerning the information we've given to them it is highly unlikely they would manage to guess our databanks, primary because they don't have data about this.

Regarding your activity - we've already examined possibility that low activity might affect your speed in negotiations, but fact that some deals are waiting for weeks and even a month for response is still going to place you under suspicion. I am not alone in this view, as we don't think that it needs a lot of time to simply respond to a message, and certainly not weeks. Since you've demonstrated your trustworthiness before we will overlook this if you respond to all pending messages in course of several next days. Several weeks of you not replying to our messages has freezen all our longterm planning.
Also there is question how Spartans aquired classified information about this - we need sincere reply on this - I ask you to inform us about every bit of info you've given to Spartans.

I am not sure which long term goal Spartans are aware of. They knew about our research treaty for long time, almost since we got their commlink, and before I took the office in the embassy.

Some of our technology trading with Spartans included the right to release it to you, namely Doc Flexibility and Ethical Calculus. This I believe might tell them something. Please also note that Spartans have one of the best analytical departments I have seen. I know that their technology possesions allow them even without infiltration to deduce quite correctly the content of our databanks. Thus this doeas not surprise me that they know a lot. Quite opposite what you say here.

We do not release any detailed information. Spartans do not know still some facts about us, yet what they deduced amazed me initially. Later they revealed some facts about their situation and it became clear that they can see a lot. One of the allowed methods of getting info about other "human" factions is investigating the possibility of offering a technology on commlink screen. So any technology they have - they know if you have it or not.

I mean that we can infer what technologies they have by what technologies they know that we have. If they're not so far ahead of us that it doesn't really matter.

Hmm, I think you're right, but I see no need of it as we have research treaty with them and can obtain research information by asking..

We can just use the same trick, and have been, though not recently.
