Hi there! For the record, I say Enviro for tree farms first....

I've used Minute Mirage's technology choice spreadsheet to test our tech choices. Results I get from spreadsheet have been confirmed by our experience in the game, and the good news is that we can choose Biogenetics as our next technology. I will post it here if anyone wants additional tests and/or does not have it. It is really useful and I hope it is correct. W can use in future too.

There has been some debate as to how effective the spreadsheet will be in MP games, especially those started via scenario, like this one. I hope it's correct too.

You need to enable the bottom option for gifting tech/SP scenario/MP scenario games. When I did it, it correctly displayed our initial choices, as well lack of IB option. It also shows that Biogenetics is an option whether we research it or receive it.

Very good, then we can promise the tech to Angels!

Oh, a new version compared to the one I dl'd. I'll have to go get that....

Let's assume for the moment that we can obtain Doc: Mobility from the Spartans. Then I say the next tech we research should be Social Psych (which we know will be available). How about after that?

With the Weather Paradigm, lifting restrictions is not as important any more, but being able to use boreholes would still be a substantial boon. Furthermore, since we plan to pop boom at some point (hopefully in ~20 years), we will want Ethical Calculus. We will probably get Doc: Flexibility from the Angels in trade. After that, we have some options:

Probe Yang and hope to get Doc: Loyalty. Head through Intellectual Integrity and towards PSA for the ability to build the Planetary Datalinks and Hunter-Seeker Algorithm.

Tech towards Environmental Economics so we can harvest boreholes/mines and build tree farms.

Probe Yang and hope to get Applied Physics. Grab Gene Splicing, High Energy Chemistry, and then Doctrine: Air Power to militarily dominate the game, hopefully.

                  Comments/other suggestions?

One thing: testing this spreadsheet, after we research Social Psych, we will need to have Doctrine: Flexibility from Angels to have Ethical Calculus as a choice.

As for longterm plans, restriction lifting technologies will be developed by Morgans and perhaps Angels - I would trade/probe rape for them. If we get Doctrine Loyalty from Yang, I would go towards II, for CDF and nonolethal methods.
We could get Planetary Datalinks and PSA after that, but I am more interested in war path option after II - getting to air for air domiantion would ensure us offensive capability.

social Psych is fine with me, but we should see if Spartans already don't have it..

I doubt they have it - they are beelining military, unless they obtained it using 'other ways'. But possibility exists. With increased police rating, they can control their population with scouts (note they have 3 more population points thatn us).

IT GeoModder informs us that Angels got Applied Physics. They either traded for it, popped it or borrowed it from Yang.

He did however, mention that they will still be getting Mobility/Flexibility at the same time.... Are we still going to trade the mobility from Sparta to them?

Yes, then we can get Flexibility from them when they discover it, while we go for Calculus.

Good, they didn't specify how. That means we are under no obligation to specify how we get our techs.
