Are the tree farms necessary for psych reasons? Because if it's just about the eco damage and energy, it's probably cheaper to just reterraform.

you mean changing present terraforming of tiles around bases?
            ---
I would not go for reterraforming. First, it is waste of the previous terraforming effort to some extent. we optimized tiles for best efficiency. Why to change that now and spent former turns for tiles already done instead of making boreholes for example. Second, we do want large production, if a facility can solve its eco problems, let us build it. We will need it at some point for sure.

The benefits of tree farms are too large to neglect it
            - increase of food production
            - psych in bases
            - economic
            - ecodamage elimination.

At point when a tree farm can give enough additional Ec for its upkeep it is the time to have it.

We need large production to have more military units. It is time to build them, we cannot afford to be so weak for much longer.
Boreholes - if worked from cities they will even more contribute to the ecodamage anyway, so we return to the point when we need those tree farms. Both energy and minerals give ecodamage, but minerals more.

I didn’t mean reassign workers to eliminate ecodamage risk, I meant run the risk of eco damage happening for a little while to make the rush cheaper.

We plan just that. Rush 2 more tree farms next turn and in 2 turns go for free market. We will have then 3 tree farms in the most developed bases.

We have not decided yet for how long to run free market, but we will see. I would estimate our economy to have like +80 EC/turn in free market for our present turns.
Free market will take away +1 industry bonus. this is 2 EC/row of manufactured item. We haven't decided yet, but this something for further discussion.
                - Do we accumulate a lot of EC durning free market and then hurry facilities when we are back in planned maybe?

Yes, I think this will be noted by history as one of the greatest bluders of the 22nd century in ACDG3. We talked about it, agreed for it, just never took this resolution into completion.

As I think of it, it is completely amusing. Guys, we behaved like bunch of newbies that bought the game just last week

Entangled in all other details we never took serious look into overall image. For me it is a great lesson for the future. And also some old truth about life - always try to see things from various perspectives.
