I vote for a 24 hour extension with Drouge having the ability to grant addtional time on a case by case basis. Please see pararell thread for reasons.

I also voted 24, for simplicity mostly.

I'm the "write-in" ................ for the following reasons:

I think that extensions should still be on a case-by-case basis as approved by Drogue or Method.

If team inactivity, or lack of an adequate substitute turnplayer, are causing delays beyond the current 48 hour limit, then that is indicative of a much deeper problem with the game, and we should address that as a separate issue.

Extending the regular deadline from 2 to 3 days just (IMHO) means that we'll reach the MY year 2200 in March 2006 instead of in September of this year, as our short (60 turns) history has shown that turnplaying expands to fill the time available

I'm sure the Mods would favorably consider requests for extensions if teams are decimated by illness, work commitments or vacations, or if turns are unexpectedly complicated due to military manoeuvers or protracted diplomatic negotiations. No?

Anyway - those are my thoughts

Googlie is exactly right in what he says, and I believe personally that is the best method with which to use.

I go with Googlie's reasoning. When I was turnplayer in previous DG I had to maintain almost 20 bases and there auxiliries on top of fighting a war as well and was able to do so within the 48 hour time limit.
