I've given it out to no-one, and used it just once in an attempt to solve an eliminated player problem in a PBEM(which was better solved by restarting - it was a fairly young game)

(But I wish I'd had it available early in the ACDG2 game - I might have been able to get Miriam's 20 colony pods better utilized than merely clogging up the roads)

Not only there. In my city alone 5 out of 7 highschools didn´t match the minimum numbers in pupils, so almost all of them will get shut, too...

Good thing I´m already done with that, and by the time they move on to closing down universities, I´ll either have my diploma or a well-paid job as a waiter at the local Chinese...

I think that's probably not what Ouro meant by "shut down". Most just close for the summer. For most of our schools, it's not the declining enrollment that's the problem, but the declining quality.

Micha, is university enrollment dropping too? Is there greater, lesser, or the same percentage of the population attending as in the past?

the birth rate just keeps dropping => less children => some schools have to stop

Hm, our summer holidays only begin in August...

As for dropping numbers: No, the opposite is true! There are more students than ever, since ten years their numbers have tripled. The problem is, that in Germany university education is free, so the state has to pay for it. With that many students, the unis become too expensive for the public coffers, so they started "thinning out" the staff. Now we have approximately 350 students per professor, and most profs don´t even have assistants...

It is getting even worse as students rallied to protest a planned university fee of $700 per semester, so it wasn´t introduced. That forced the unis to drop several courses as they couldn´t afford the staff needed to teach them. So the officials step in and say "either teach the whole thing or close".

Well... kindof double meaning. The fact that my school has... seven more days of class. And the fact that parents don't like the teacher hired, since my dad, the former teacher, retired. So the school might be under the legal limit for funding... I am very glad at this point that I'm a senior, and getting out now!

Who needs cleaning? We had twelve kids this year - ten is the needed. Besides the three kids unenrolled, me graduating, another student is going to visit a friend south. And six days!
