No way can Pirates! be better than Rome: Total War. Heck, the game isn't even out yet. Half-Life 2 will probably outdo RTW for The Game of 2004 in my books, not an FPS fan really but HL is just... wow.

I'm looking forward to Pirates! though, maybe it can persuade me otherwise. It does hold a lot of promise but the theme isn't half as appealing to me as is that of RTW.

OK, fine then. Dunno what it is... you mean the Red Desert? As for Pirates, look at the preview on Cutlass Isle. Makes me pant just looking at it...

Then again, I grew up on Pirates, and have never played the Total War Series in my life.... but it is on my presitigous Christmas list, along with one or two other games....
