Seeing as we have a small Core of skilled Investors now and that oposing Fations are begining to ramp up recuritment it would be prudent to begin organizing a recruitment effort of ourown. In addition we should further elaborate on how we will run and Role Play MorgaCorp.
My sugjestion is to use some system inwhich all the team members "own" MorgaCorp stocks and the more of it they own the more "votes" they possess on the games issues. Each person would get 10 Shares for joining and shares would never be split.
We might also alow players to own Bases with their shares of stock and deside that bases production (with some limitations ofcorse) the players who grow their bases (and make the most energy Credits from thouse bases) would get rewarded with more power and more bases. Atfirst we would all own a % of the first base and then as we expand we "sell" the new bases to Entrapranurial members who start managing them.
Units would be sold between bases or "rented" (not rehomed) and one person could say make a Contract with a nearby base to have BoreHole Built within their bases radius.
External Affairs and Faction wide ishues would be desided by an executive board meeting and Vote based on shares of stock. The CEO will play the turn and naturaly own the most stock (perhaps winning the election grants that player some kind of Stock Option).
Our over all Play style would ofcorse be Strongly oriented towards Building and I would want to get into as many trade treateies and Pacts as possible with all Human and AI Factions. Victory would be sought primarily through Economic Victory and Transendence/Diplomatic secondarily.Companions the creator seeks, not corpses, not herds and believers. Imp:
Great ideas. As befits entrepreneurs and capitalists, I think the idea of having team members "manage" particular bases has a lot of appeal - after all, Morgan abhors a Planned economy.
Hmnm - a "stock option" plan based on shareholder value (total AC score, maybe?). Original team members get "founder options" and subsequent joiners get slightly fewer, declining in # as the game progresses. Base Governors (Managing Directors?) get to keep x% of the credits they generate at their base (needed to "buy" other services such as terraforming, or defenses), as well as exercising their stock options
I could see a base producing mainly formers, say (Morgan Construction?) and terraforming other bases' tiles at maybe a 5 ec credit per terraformed tile. Another base is the Super Science City, getting a credit or 2 every turn from the others, while a third base builds a Command Center and a Biocenter and churns out veteran troops for rent to other bases
Until clean reactors, a base could build an aerospace (and prolly a punishment sphere, if bombers were being built) and home the airforce there. Similarly with the navy. And they'd get a credit or 2 per turn as 'protection money" for defending other researching/producing bases
Big items, like SP's - that call for crawlers and upgrades - would be by Board decision as they'd involve an effort by multiple bases
Voting shares could be allocated based on each bases contribution of the 3 necessities (so that a base going a few turns at stockpile energy would still be massively contributing to overall financial health
And although Morgan can't run a Planned economy, some advance planning would need to be done at the exec level for base placement issues, tech tree choices, etc etc
And until 'Poly creates the new forums we prolly need our own pre-planning one to get serious discussions going - I'll see what I can set up for this. Also this style of base management/ec credits would prolly need an XL spreadsheet to track - I'll have a go at this too as a first draft

[Murmering something along the lines of "PRAVDA stolen from me...", Former Comrade Vander wanders in to the underconstruction boardroom]
I'd like to cast my lot with this burgioning capitalist empire. I could always be editor in Cheif of Morgan News Network. I like that sort of stuff.
Besides, I'm already reading "The Wealth of Nations"She cheats her lover of his due
but still contrives to keep him tied

and then refusing to decide

Vander, Satyagraha, Googlie, welcome! I, Mr Chaunk, am the self appointed doorman here, and I welcome you to Mr Morgans great Monarary domain with open arms. I do hope you find everything satisfying and perhaps even exciting. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any queries/comments or even problems!
And Mr Tassadar, we await your decision with baited breath! The life of poverty with the other factions might appeal to you, but we feel that wealth is always better than a poke in the eye with a dirty stick (a.k.a. Spartan training routines) anarchic pettiness and confusion, or even being forced to live in the dirt.
Morgan Central is still open for more investment of course! The more the merrier (and the more profitable too!)

I think Morgan believes in the people more than you might initially put him down for. One of Hydro's fantastic PBEM story threads has an excellent view of Morgan IIRC. I'll try and dig up a link for you Tass.
Edit: http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...56#post2367556 at the bottome of this post is the particullar bit I was thinking of, where the manager deals with the revolting people, although the whole thread is an excellent picture of Morgan IMHO. Morgan always looks after his people (Hence the hab limits at 4) otherwise he wouldn't have anyone to power his monetary mecca.
Also, if you look at the first post in the thread, Mr Chaunk was/is a janitor yet living a life of luxury. Hard working, yet still luxurious.
My two cents anyway.
