  • HiveDronia - It's Time

Twice in the past I have posted Threads advocating the unification of the Drones and the Hive. The second thread resulting in the very benificial exchange of ambassadors. I now post the third, and I hope, last thread on this matter.

The time has come to fully unify the Hive and Drone teams.

We must render to two of our most able, trusted, and dependable soilders some help.

Buster for the Drones, and Hong Hu for the Hive, have long (too long), for many, many years, shouldered the burden of being Turnplayers. There are few who are able or eager to pick up their duties on a consistent basis. Our two valiant soldiers grow weary.

    Let us lighten their burden.

Let us now, formally, for all to see and know, that the Great Peoples of the Drones and Hive now stand side by side together.

Let us now have one Turnplayer who will play both the Drone and Hive turns. (The Hive turn follows right after the Drones.)

Let us formally unify our two teams.

I have not posted a poll. There are so few of us that we don't need one. I ask you all to publically declare your vote. I also ask that those of you who abstain or vote against unification to let us know when you will be able to serve as Turnplayer or let us know why you can't.

Because this is an important vote let us keep it open for 7 days from the time of my post.

    PS

Below is what I initally posted in response to Hong Hu's post in another Thread.

I can't play the turn because I can't get SMACX to run on my celeron XP laptop (plus I have been out of the game so long my inepitude would cause us to probably end up capitulating to the Belivers.)

But this raises in my mind the following:

If we can't find a native born Hiverian to play the turn then why don't we allow a Drone to play the turn.

    Consider:

The Hive turn follows the Drone turn.

Why don't we share the burden of turnplaying with the Drones.

One year a native Hive member can play both the Drone and Hive turns. The next year a native Drone member can play both the Drone and Hive turns.

It will make the game go much faster.

Hong Hu has given so much that I feel that we have asked too much of her. It is not fair.

If there is such opposition to allowing a native born Drone member to play our turns (and vice versa) then I suggest that the protests volunteer to be Turnplayers.

    I vote for full unification.

Let Hong Hu, Buster, Jyjutsiua (I think I misspeeled it ), Rubin, and other capable and eager HiveDronians share the Turnplayer duties.

I just want to make sure that it gets recognized that Comrade Rubin has been playing a major part of the turns for quite some time.

I would continue to try my best but I would appreciate any help from you guys.

        Thanks Hong Hu.

I have not kept up with the game as much as I wish.

However, the burden of TP is still unfairly falling on just a few shoulders.

Unifying the teams would ease the burden.

This weekend, I'll be out of town, unable to play turns. I don't know if buster will be available to play. So this would be very convenient... I could trade off with Rubin or whoever.

I just think that each team has grown into its strategy, so many things (micromanagement! terraforming!) maybe unclear for "foreigners"...

Other than that, I agree with the idea of sharing the weight of the turnplayers...

I appreciate the hard work of everybody involved, as I have been absent from the game for several weeks now. I just simply have no time left ATM.

So for me it´s a YES as long as the quality of turns played won´t drop too far...

Rubin, are you prepared to play the Drones' turn? Would you like me to check with buster?

[Edit] Looks like buster is here so I guess at least this time we don't need to worry about it.
