  • Turn 69 for Hive is ready

I posted your turn in the turn tracking thread. Buster asked someone to take over this week while he's busy.

Also note: Accidentally sent a chopper to Dacolopolis by hitting "go to nearest airbase".

The Hive will gladly welcome this present. Just kidding.

      half turn

I noticed that the energy park is now lower than what it used to be. Not sure what did I do that caused it. Is that what you talked about at (24,24) Kody?

Also I think the military production needs to be adjusted by Rubin again.

I'm trying to sell my house right now and have been trying to squeeze time to play the turn. So I'm not sure if the turn has been awarded sufficient preparing time. Would somebody else who can spend more adequate time on the game and is able to take care of the half turn?

RE tech: I'm researching IB now and have set most specialist to engineer instead of librarains. I will let Drones know that we are going to probe them if Rubin can set our probes ready.

        From Googlie:
Can probe a pactmate with no penalty if with their prior agreement. Otherwise normal procedures apply.

Set up this way to allow pactmates to still exchange techs during sunspot activity
Also since I'm researching IB that means we will need to steal IB and Roze have it. So we could also probe her for tech and stop until we got IB.

Comrades, it seems we are facing difficulties.

First of all, our research has been stalled due to our lack of the most basic of technologies. A probe squad from Voltariograd tried to download the files on Industrial Base from the Data Angel security network at Googleplex. An additional probe squad from Seat of Unity was designated to access the Data Angel networks at Gargoyle Garden. Alas, Datajack Roze's security measures made the missions very difficult. Although both probe squads have returned safely from the missions, the data files must have been scrambled somehow. We know have knowledge of High Energy Chemistry and Nonlinear Mathematics--no Indutrial Base... yet!

Secondly, the CyCon have decided to obliterate frontier Data Angel bases--probably in order to stall our advancement. No bases were captured this year but almost all Data Angel bases have been emptied. Some CyCon aircraft were shot down as well.

Thirdly, the Central Planning Committee has not informed the Central Military Committee of the designation of the Drop Colony Pod which were left under the command of the CMC. It currently resides at Michanapolis. It is about time a general plan is procured!

Finally, the Central Military Committee requests an increase in military production. Aircraft, probes and garrisons are needed. The reason is the coming strike against frontier CyCon settlements. Fast drop probes should eventually grant us the much needed infiltration information. Naval probes are still considered too high risk.

pre-END TURN file: (Edit: File removed.)

          Comrade Rubin
Chairman of the Central Military Committee

Thank you Comrade Rubin for a job well done! I have requested permission from the Drones to probe techs. The reason I would like to probe them instead of Roze is that we might be able to get AMA before we have to get all the unecessary techs.

The drop colony pod was intended to build bases at bones island and due to my lack of planning it was too late to change production when we decide not to expand to the island until later. I will contact the Drones to see if they have any need, otherwise I will have to use it as a regular colony pod.

For the next turn all bases that are not in the middle of a production or have any immediate need will be devoted to military production. Please give the approximate ratio for numbers of the aircraft and probes and garrisons if possible.

Comrade HongHu, upon the availability of Advanced Military Algorithms Drop Colony Pods may be used for advancing closer to CyCon settlements--east of Data Angel territory. To this we need very good defensive measures: Drop Probe teams, Yangfighters, Drop Garrisons (Liberators); and Yangbombers to scout for any enemy units and to divert enemy attention away from our colonization initiatives.

The current military requests revolve around aircraft: 10% Red Apaches, 20% Yangbombers and 30% Yangfighters. The remaining 40% production capacity may be optional (infrastructure or military).

For future consideration we still require additional defensive probes and--as secondary requirement--defensive infantry.

I hope the Central Military Committe is informed of any request regarding downloads from the Data Angel datalinks. A single probe squad is designated to try stealing more technologies next yer... perhaps this is no longer a viable approach?

We are getting the next tech in 4 turns I think (forget to check after I changed librarains to technicians). So we still have time to probe more techs. But we really need AMA to advance the tech research. We could still try probe Roze for IB and in the same time probe Drones for AMA.

I agree your plan for utilizing that drop colony pod. I would like to make it clear that I understand correctly: the CMC is recommending we focus solely on producing aircraft the next turn, right?

Comrade HongHu, the Central Military Committee suggested a 60% production allocation for aircraft. Other military units and general infrastructure may be included in the remaining 40%.

Is this request clear to you?

Also, would Central Planning oversee any probing of the Free Drones. The Central Military Committee wishes to remain uninvolved in diplomatic affairs. Thanks.

Thank you Comrade Rubin for the clarification.

I have already requested permission from the Drones regarding probing techs. CMC will be informed as soon as the result is in.

Comrade HongHu, is it possible for the Science and Society Committee to dispatch the probe orders for the Free Drone datalinks and report to the Central Military Committee if any further actions are to be taken against Data Angel Networks?

It is certainly very sensible to do that. I will see how many probe teams we have to dispatch when the next turn is here.

A yes, that dogfight turn above Angel territory. Thought it would be of some use to decimate the Yangfighters...
