  • Turn 2168

    Here's the half turn.

Again I have not received request for military production so I'm mainly producing clean formers and crawlers. I would like to keep that drop former if we can spare 1 turn (use other bases for necessary military production) because Roze's bases' production capability is really too low and it will take too long to finish the creche and other things even with the rush buy.

Also I'm producing a drop pod, drop probe and a drop garrison for purpose of setting new bases at bones island. Will appreciate evaluations about the safty of such bases. If not appropriate for this time, please change the production.

We will finish researching Cybernetic next turn. Will like to have suggestions about next reseach.

Internal planning wise, I would like to have some discussions regarding whether we want to start building treefarms. Also I still need discussion about SPs.

Some communiques between Rubin and I. Just so that everybody knows what's been going on.

      Hi HongHu,

A tricky turn. I was very close to making a huge mistake and allow the CyCon to seize one of our bases on the east coast. We had a extra recon chopper that took care of the threat at [33,27]:

      Battleship: The Hyberia [<(6)>-1-6, SAM]
      Transport: "Impaler" Class Transport [0-1-5]
Transport Crew: Boy Scout [1~-1-1, Amphibious], 3 Impact Marines [4~-1-1, Amphibious]

      No enemy survivors...
      Nice job there!

Some formers were left to me?!? Group at [6,26] awaits completion of road at [7,25]. I estimated that a borehole is needed on the mineral resource. Please also check the formers in Uni-territory. I have no clue as to what they were supposed to do. All formers, except 1, remained at initial position and are building up 'terraformer-time'. Please review this, HongHu.
Oops. I guess I stopped too soon. Couldn't spend enough time on the games these days. (We are planning to sell our house and buy a new one. Things are pretty hectic.) I will check tonight.

I changed a single Liberator to Crimson Guard or something like that. Everything else is as you left it.

2 Data Angel bases captured. ~150 EC's received and all of it went to unit upgrades--especially our new Peace Guard II for drone control. I am reluctant to re-home units until we have the Children's Chreches in place. I risk losing some morale and we need the best possible troops. I'll change this procedure if you have any specific requests.
This is something I haven't thought about. Thanks for reminding me. I will not rehome any more units until the finish of the creches.

Arneloski is behaving strangely. Hmm, maybe another game bug.
      What do you mean?

The Drones seem to launch a CyCon invasion once AAA ability is acquired. We could soon start striking CyCon from the west. I'm still undecided on the issue.
I think you are right. Drones will get AMA in 2 turns. Unfortunetaly we will not get it from them because of the sunspot activity.

We need 15-20 probes for the safety of the remaining Data Angel bases. It is somewhat odd that we are in 'builder-mode' and waging war at the same time. I estimate that we do not have sufficient forces to guarantee the safety of any settlements on Bones Island. I would rather wait 5-10 years. Perhaps we could raise the land south of Rubinite and connect the two continents? Oh, well... This is not my department.
Ok I will not go for bones island then. Also I understand you mean we would need more drop probes.

We need to figure out what to spend all our energy credits on. Either rush building or upgrading troops. I estimate that troop upgrades will be at least 200 EC's in the next 5-10 years--however, that is also supposed to be sufficient for the Roze campaign.
I am thinking that you probably would need some money to upgrade our military forces. If we have more that we don't need urgently I'll start to upgrade some formers to clean formers at bases will support costs are high.

I think I will copy this to the hive forum so that everybody can see what's going on.

So, the task force almost got through?

To bad I wasn't a bit more patient then...

Yeah how did you find it? Did you do regular patrols with apache helicopters?

I specifically told them to do regular patrols, before I left. Also Rubin is a really good player and probably decided to do it himself too.

Yeah, should have sent it more to the east through the western part of the Sargasso Sea. Simply was too unpatient, when I was just out of reach, Dacopolis was ripe for a little gassing...

End-Game Note: Upon evaluating our homeland defenses it was decided to employ extensive reconnaissance aircraft to prevent enemy forces access our coastline.

This defensive measure tied up several aircraft each year.

During M.Y. 2168 the CMC was relocating aircraft to the frontline and the usual reconnaissance patrols were slightly changed. I do not believe an alternative access route would have been more fortunate for the CyCon as the hivean northern, eastern and southeastern borders were constantly monitored.

However, even the CMC did not believe that the hivean reconnaissance was 100% effective; though 90% effectiveness seemed reasonable.
