  • Turn 2161

I'll be logging off shortly, but I was able to see the latest turn before I did.

    Initial observations:

    We lost Kelvin Point.
I'm not sure how but I guess it was a combination of Uni/CyCon air and the Uni Ogre in Gardens Point. It looks like Uni self-destroyed it.

We lost the (1)-3-6 cruiser near Peace Pod Island. It was protected shielded from the CyCon 4-1-6 cruiser by our needlejet, but a DA 4-1-6 cruiser killed it instead.

There are a lot of Formers that have been teraforming accumalating from last turn; just about all of the formers that appear to working on making echelon mirrors are terastoring and should have two turns of teraforming ready to be unleashed.

The Drones have a phenomenal concentration of forces in Gardens point it looks like they will just roll through CyCon shortly.

We are able to take Cairnes this turn. Can we hold it.

Uni has a <6>1-1 drop infantry in Carbooltol, plus they are making a chopper ready in 1 turn (next turn). The drop SAM infantry should be destroyed. Cairnes garrison should be emptied as well.

The Drones lab production is 300 per turn, ours is a little over 200. It looks like the gap will increase.

    Thoughts for future:
We can piggy back on the Drones advance through Cycon. They will take the Lions share of the bases, but we should be able to pick up a few.

We should take the DA empire as soon as we can. Right now they do not have DAP and the Drones have not begun to encroach.

Once we take it the we can work on taking the rest of CyCon from the West.

I'll take one more look around the forums and then sign off. It's been fun playing with the Hive.

Many Thanks to All of You.

    Dear Comrades,

This is bad timing, indeed. As Chairman of the Central Military Committee I am afraid I have sparse available time for considering our military strategy this year. I hope to be able to put together a brief report--but I fear it wil not be ready before orders are to be dispatched.

Comrade Mead's suggestions seem sound, although I would hesitate to advance further towards CyCon homeland via former University territory.

    Many apologies,
Comrade Rubin, Chairman of the Central Military Committee

But if we can deny them the PEG which is situated in one of their bases, that would be a huge blow to their economy. We need to find out where is that base.

Alright, thank you Comrade Mead, this will be very helpful. I’d like to set up a turnchat tomorrow so that we may decide on a turnplayer as well as just play the turn. When is everyone available to do it?

Tomorrow? I'll probably be around in the later evening, around 9PM to 3AM U.S. Central Standard Time (15-21 GMT, iirc).

Hmm, it really does look as though most of us are busy, this did come at a bad time. I unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances will not be home tonight, let us try to put this off until tomorrow. I'll inform Tassadar that we may be late with the turn, but I'd rather do this with several people around just to ensure that we do not screw up.

Ok I'm back comrades!!! Applied to rejoin some time ago but Ming was busy.

Give me some time to get familiar with things then I'll be ready for whatever task that needs to be done.

Ok. I don't see much formal orders. I'm going to go ahead and play the turn, and stop if I have a question. Otherwise I will post the save before end turn.

Here's the unfinished turn. I finished the teraforming part and did the uni front. I didn't move some of the military units yet since I'm not sure if they should be moved to the Roze front or should they be sent to participate war with CCs. Rubin, can you move them or give me orders to move them? For base productions Vander is producing a probe for Seat of unity, and roko is producing a crawler for its food supply. Others are also producing crawler but can be changed to military units if needed. I would like to produce a drop colony pod to occupy the bones island. It looks like a pretty rich territory.

Comrades, the Central Military Committee has implemented the new hivean troop naming convention and changed production at Googliegrad to a Crimson Guard (0-1-1 probe team) in order to improve homeland probe defenses.

                      File access (unfinished): File removed

The Central Military Committee can dispatch all remaining troop orders; however, no clear strategy has been agreed upon. I personally suggest:

Forward any invasion troops in former University territory toward CyCon territory to improve defensive capabilities at our newly captured bases. Defenders are to be distributed between these new bases.

Allocate reconnaissance aircraft--Yangbombers--to our southern homeland border. Order additional Yangbombers on reconnaissance missions near our eastern/southeastern border. Order one or two aircraft to patrol our northern border.

Bones Island is a viable target. However, we should utilize the settlements already prepared by Datajack Roze and invade these first. Roze's territory is very fertile! Hence, direct all newly built--idle--troops toward Data Angel territory (near Heart Break Hill) for a planned invasion. Aircraft low on fuel should return home for refueling.

I suggest the ACDG-Hive2161b file to be used. In case of desperation, the Central Military Committee can complete the final orders.

                      Comrade Rubin
Chairman of the Central Military Committee

                      (Edit: Removed file access.)

The CMC strategy sounds good to me. I would like to request that the CMC complete the final orders for the unmoved units.

Re: bones island. One thing that attracted me is those pods. Sometimes I feel that pods in late game may be quite useful sometimes. Would it pay off if we simply drop a tranced scout there?

Two more points that needs to be addressed:

First, I've send MMI preaccepted to PEACE. Buster's sending some ecs to them. So they will be able to build drop colony pods.

Second. This is a major question. Cabool is the last base of Uni. I guess that means we can't really occupy it because of the PBEM bug? What exactly will happen then?

Tass or I need to confirm that you can indeed occupy it - if so, then we will instruct whoever plays the PUT turns (Maniac?) to build a scout and self destruct thereby disbanding the base
