As for what I'm studying Digital Electronics. I won't bore you guys with the details, because frowning gives people wrinkles.

We have a good team, that is pulling together, as a team, which is good because it looks like war will be upon us rather soon.
I'm quite happy the way things are turning out in the hive. I'm all hopeful again.

Although some of you didn't like Enigma and I understand why. I still feel that he's managed to bring the hive forward a fair amount in the last few turns. Even if you don't agree with his ideas and his comments that have inflamed people, you still have to be thankful that he carried us to this critical point of the hive's development.

    Basically there's two things left.
1 - Build army and smash University
2 - Keep Peace alive so their players aren't assimilated by the Cycon.

If those two things go successfully I don't see what can go wrong.

Anyway I better get back to work.

Yes when I look at the turn I couldn't help to think how much Enigma has helped with the turn. He really has done a very good job.

        Greetings Voltaire,

Our Cap'ns as you are I hope by now aware, totally with you on way forward , if we can hold out.

As stated we will be sending you our techs and maps, next turn regardless of what happens.

To try to ensure Peace survival you might care to consider further courses of action.

        1.

Rush a Sea colony pod and launch it close to you but in our direction. Leave it empty. One of our schooners might just be able to reach it faster than our transport. Then change our Peace Hive relationship from Pact to Treaty (consult first, if and when this would be necessary), so that we can invade without having our forces need to withdraw back to a base in our territory.

        2. Capture a Data Jack base, near to you and also leave it empty. However the risk here is that DJ might steal it back again before we get there and even if we get there.

As you can see we are considering everything. After our next turn we will know what is and what is not possible for us.

One last possibility is that you indicate to the Cycon that you will intervene on our behalf if they do not stop the war.

        Best wishes

        Cap'n Hercules.

Should we send them the plan or do we need more discussions?

Before the next turn the Hive will try to stall the CCs by telling them that their proposals regarding us pacting with uni and further cooperations have been heatedly discussed inside the Hive.

After we receive the next turn (2156), the Hive will downgrade the CC pact into treaty (so that they won't see our military preparation). Send them an official message saying that the CC univ pact has caused uneasiness from the people of the Hive and we would like to have more time to consider this situation.

Turn 2158, the Hive or PEACE propose a planetary concil meeting demanding the CC stops aggressiveness against the PEACE and return half of the PEACE bases. As the governor the Drones will have to lead this meeting. The votes will be 3 vs 2. We give the CC 1 - 2 turns to respond. It will be hard to manage the return of the bases if they accept but they will not accept.

Turn 2159, the Hive, Drones and Peace declare vendetta against CPU. We attack university land.

Holy crap, is it THAT bad for the PEACE? It sounds like they are desperate for possibilites. That means that the CyCon must have a pretty big military by now.......things don't look good for them.

We must show them Hive hospitality......and no, not the assimilation-and-nerve staple routine.....

Just look at the infiltration reports.

It is OK, but not huge. It can (will) grow.

When I looked in 2155 I saw about 6 to 10 impact amphibious units, and maybe a couple of transports and ships, in addtion to their sentries.

In 2156 I will look again and use a pen and pad to track, as best I can, what they have where, and what they are building.

I had a couple minutes to look at the infiltration window too. Looks like the PEACE has 5 bases left, but this next turn we can expect they will lose some more. Let's hope they will not lose all of them. They are short of energy too, so can't rush military units a lot. The next turn I will try to see how situation is and perhaps we will loan them a couple bucks.

If they have 10 amphibious Impact units and transports in the PEACE area, they can attack us within 3-6 turns. Owch. Those Impact Marines are capable of taking 3 or 4 bases on the first attack with our current defenses, without any warning.

So do you suggest that we add a +3 armor garrison in the coastle cities on our east?

Another thought, since they don't have DAP yet, that means they don't have air supior ability right? In other words they can't attack planes and choppers? Would it be sufficient then if we put a needlejet or chopper in all the coastle cities? Then they can't even attack it?

Sorry, they can attack planes in bases, and the planes defend with the armour value too Planes in base die, HongHu.

Red armour might not be a bad idea, but we need some patrols to sink the foils/cruisers too. They may also use probe foils to BUY a base, so infantry probe teams would be needed UNLESS we can get a screen to stop them reaching the shore.

Got you. We don't have many coastle bases IIRC. But I'll try add a red army and a defense probe in all bases one tile from eastern coast and try order some noodles patrolling our coastline (if only I know how to do it ).

I also asked that question in the help forum. This way the CCs would know that we are really worried about our defense when we want to lower pact to treaty next turn.

I have sent this email to Hercules.

                                Cap'n Hercules:

I have been the turn player for the Hive for the last turn. I have not accepted your map and techs. The Hive doesn't want to get impact, IB and Social Psych because it will increase our tech cost. I am sorry that I have not communicated with you promptly in the past. Please send Progenitor Psych, Adaptive Economics and your map to us the next turn. If you have not received DAP from the Drones, I will send it to you if you want it. I was also planning to send you some ecs to aid your rush of military units although it now becomes unlikely because another comrade has used up 1/3 of our ec reserves for the next turn. Please let me know if you do have a need for ecs and I'll try to see if I can still squeesh some for you the next turn.

Also I would like to notify you that the Hive has downgraded our pact with the CCs to a treaty. Starting the next turn or two we plan to go ahead and press some political pressures on the CCs to stop the CC-PEACE war. Specifically, we will perhaps initiate a planet council on the matters of CC-PEACE war. The votes are expected to be 3 for vs 2 against the ending of war with the two votes uncertain from the AIs. Our information is that the gods may want to act for the AIs.

A cruiser is heading your way to meet the colony pod. A noodle will perhaps also set off the next turn to meet you. Be careful and stay safe.

                                Comrade HongHu
