Turn Update - 2145 onwards

    Thank you Comrade Micha. Again I thank you for you consistent support. My only point to you is that even if we have hold the turn for another couple hours so that the people who are playing the turn can actully look at what the discussion is, or even one more day just for people to discuss it, we are still well with 48 hours and I don't think anybody from other factions will give a **** to us.

    As for other things, well people are still thinking that turn chat was "sysmatic". As far as Kody goes, I have talked to Kody after you guys did the turn and I know how he had been "on the other channel dropping hints". Haha, it is laughable. As for the turn chat was more than one hour, when Chairman said that the turn chat was going to be in "5 hour" my time was 2:33pm and the turn was completed according to the Chairman at 7:17pm. 5 hours after 2:33 would be 7:33. 1 hours after 7:33 would be 8:33. And dacole is online at 8:33. Nobody had thought about waiting for him even if he was the only one that actually discussed something with me and I told you guys that he knows what I've been thinking.

    That's ok. My work "has proven very very helpful", to you perhaps Comrade Micha, but not to our leadership. I'm sad to say. And still not, till this minutes. For they would not agree that there were anything wrong in the way they conducted. "After some days everybody will have made it through the tons of textlines" I have written? Haha, after some days everybody will entirely forget even that this had happened. We'll be happily spamming our way through and blowing away the huge fortune that Kody left with us. I'm sorry, I just couldn't help getting upset over this.

      You’re absolutely right; the turn was down earlier than I stated I would be. Jamski and Micha were both on so I though it prudent to call the turnchat 2 hours early in case no one showed up later in the day; had I known that decole would have been on at ~8:00 (your time) I would have waited around, but unfortunately no one responded to the turnchat announcement and I made the decision to play it safe and go with the people currently online. The option was between that and risk not having anyone available to do the turn at a later time, I chose to play it safe; not necessarily the best decision but a prudent one given my ignorance.

      We really must restructure the Hive as you have proposed HongHu, and I am ready at any time to attempt the restructuring proposal but there seems only so much I can do if people prove unwilling to contribute. The leadership is only as strong as the people, if the people do not partake in the decision making process then it fall upon the leadership to make up for this lack of participation, and the compensation we provide proves to be only marginal in comparison to if we had cooperation from all active members.

      The other thing I must stress these reforms will take time, perhaps a turn or two, we cannot expect the Hive to adapt in an instant. It was a great accomplishment enough that we recovered from last turns fiasco and have taken the path to self-management. I spoke to Kody after the turnchat and he said he would attempt to provide the Hive with ‘new blood’ which will hopefully revitalize it, since it does not seem as though the established elite have enough motivation (or enough time for that matter) to do things properly.

        Dear Chairman, thanks for your resonse. I understand your decison since you are not aware that dacole and perhaps mead are ready to pariticipate. MSN chat had always been a problem because we have different time zones. That's exactly why I proposed more discussions happen in the forum because the actual turn playing.

        We already have some new blood who's willing and able to help. We might get more new bloods. But if we are not willing to let them in then it won't be useful even if we have tons of new bloods.

        I am not so much frustrated toward you dear Chairman since you have been willing to do what it takes, so I do believe given time we will be able to achieve the reform you are searching. What frustrates me is the attitude of people especially deputy chairman such as "kody will kill us but oh well what can you expect us to do" and such as adding one spam comment after spending 1 minute or less in a thread where I spend hours to post some of my thought. It's kind of disheartening. But maybe I was expecting too much. I really thought that I could expect more from our leaderships though.

        I promise I'll try to be more positive from now on.

          Every point you have raised has been valid, and if you have any more please post them, we do not need optimism but realism at this moment in time. Decole will be given more say in things, and I promise that I will speak to him over MSN as soon as I see him online, and with him I can arrange a details such as how he wishes to contribute, and might turn over the turn playing duties to him if he feels he is up to it (since no one else seems to be).

          After much consideration, and after HongHu’s countless insightful points, the first step toward reform will be this: everyone who currently holds any position in the Hive (save for the Courts which are in session and doing their job) IS fired. I am dissolving the Hive government as of this moment; positions will now be given out on a basis of involvement in the Hive.

          This is a game, and as a game we are meant to enjoy ourselves, but we cannot do so if no one wishes to contribute to the game. We need reform, and the problem has become so deep rooted that we’ll need to remove the current weeds in the system before we plan the new flowers.

            First I need to apologize to Chairman for haven't noticed the turn he posted when I was busy throwing my fit and accusing him not having done so.

            So I'm really appreciative that the Chairman actually did post it. (He did many other things too such as topping several threads for game discussions.) I'm now feeling much better and confident that we might actually have a chance to success in this restructuring with the lead of the Chairman.

            That said, I've looked at the turn and I have to agree with the deputy that Kody would have to kill us. Although I really don't think he would be able to. For he would perhaps die first with internal bleeding if he saw our turn before he even has a chance to kill us.

            I will write my few comments in the next post. There might be more to comment on but I didn't have time for a thorough review. I suggest in the future we don't post our turn to the public forum until somebody's looked at the internal posted turn since many errors are ones that could be corrected (such as base production).

              First thing I noticed is that we are currently producing tons of colony pods. Right now we have 4 active and 5 in production. Next turn we will have 4 of the 5 completed so 8 active. I guess we want to compete with Miriam for the title of pod producing champion.

              I'm proud that we can beat Miriam this way but there are some issues that we perhaps had forgotten.

              Firstly, currently we are in the narrow window of being able to pop boom through Golden Age. The window of time is very small for once the number of our bases are greater than the second burocratic limit we will not be able to do it for the extra drone. So our priority really should be try to get all the size 3 bases to size 4 and enter all the size 4 bases into Golden ages other than trying hard to narrow down this narrow window that Kody design and opens for us with his own blood.

              Second, I have time to check but may I be so bold to ask if we know where this 8 or 9 pods would be sent to? Have we prepared farms and polices for the new bases? I guess there's no need to mention if we prepared sensors at the new base sites.

              Third, right now we really don't need many more small bases. Rather we need more larger bases where we could use librarians to speed up science research.

              Second thing I noticed is regarding the most important thing in this stage of our turn: pop booming through GA.

              First, currently we are sacrificing our research to allocated 10% ec to psych. IIRC we shouldn't need to do that. So instead of increasing tech rate (through pop booming and librarians) we are decreasing it.

              Second, what are we doing to prepare bases for pop booming? NOTHING. We are building colony pods in size 3 bases where we should try grow them to size 4. The formers are building solar panels when they should be building farms and condensors. Crawlers are not used to craw food. Instead they are used in forest squares producing 0,2,0 while workers are working farms and producing 4,0,1.

              Third for bases that already pop boomed, what have we been doing? Instead of changing some workers to librarains and using crawlers for food, we have 2 doctors that sit on the beach and enjoy sunshines. What's worse is that I was there cheering for Michapolis also entered golden age and cautioned people that more foods are needed for it is experiencing hunger. What did I see this turn? Michapolis was starved from size 5 to size 3!!! What cruelty.

              There are other smaller points that I would like to make.

              First, we were planning to rebuild the Hive and Jamski Clovek for the instaneously grow to size 3 and the chance to plant a sensor under the base. The Hive now is building a pod will get it completed next turn. I don't think we have a sensor built under it. In fact it was built next to it because oh well we stuffed up. That's a small mistake I guess and we can live with it. Jamski Clovek is the other one that we plan to rebuild. It is currently doing rec tanks. When we finally are able to rebuild it the rec tanks will be gone. Better not waste any money now and change the production to a pod (which will bring our fleet of colony pod to 10 Yeay!)

              Second, better call back the rover that patrols the suny masa before the sneaky and brave uni scout destory one of our base. Two days ago I talked to Kody: "uni scout attack the Hive wow" and I thought it was a joke. Now I realize that there is a chance that the joke is on us.

              Third, oh and this one IS pretty important. We put two probe team into that foil. I wouldn't mind that except one of the probe team is a DEFENSE probe who is supposed to be protecting our coastal city from the uni probes. It only has 1 movement points. We don't want to send him directly to the enemy for interrogation do we?

              Fourth, Vanderburg is starving and about to lose a pop. Googliegrad is the only one that I could find that is close to grow to size 4. Better try grow it and instead of colony pod build a children's creshe while hoping it will still catch the narrow winder of pop booming.

              Five, I suggest we move the crawlers to the existing mines.

              Please add more comments if you see other points that I have not see or if you believe I was wrong about something.

              p.s. One note to deputy chairman: some of the things seem to be quite low level mistakes which I really don't think a veteran like you would be making. Tell us the truth. Do you not love us and care for us any more?

                        I've looked at the turn for a short time last night, but wasn't able to get through all the bases. Here's some points I see.

                        Before any other movement be made these following things must be done:
                        1. The four formers near Static Univ and Vevtopia who are working on solar panels, need to cancel the job since they are going to finish job this turn. I'd suggest change the task to condensors. (Then we could crawl the food.)
                        2. The defense probe need to get off the transport before it heads out in the water!!!
                        3. Cancel movement of the rover on Sunny Mesa before he goes too far. Redirect. His job should be patrol that area.
                        4. Three formers are doing individual works at Jamksi Peninsula. They need to be grouped together before they move this turn. (Also after the new base is set up since we didn't have a police ready we need to rush the police scout for drones.)

                        Couple other points:
                        1. We need to move a crawler on the energy bonus at Sherwood Forest near Vanderburg. Also the mine nearby needs to be crawled.
                        2. Buster's confirmed that they will give us the prototype from Anvil of Man. So we need to set a road betwee Anvil of Man and SU as soon as possible to facilitate the future transfer of the Drones' prototyped unit to us within one turn.

                        Ok the following is base by base:
                        Rokossovky: there is a former marked ">" saying that it is moving southeast. Not sure what it is. May need to change. There's a crawler currently crawling 1 min, needs to be changed.

                        SU: needs a crawler on farm

                        The Hive: See if any units needs to be rehomed. (I didn't see any except for the probe team which doesn't really matter.) what to build after it is rebuilt?

                        Utopia: working (2,1,0) -> (1,2,2)

                        Vevtopia: crawler forest -> farm

                        Voltairgrad: move crawler toward the mine

                        Central Planning: already have two pods needed to be added back. Worker (2,1,0)->(1,2,2). Crawler move to nut bonus crawl food. Make sure we have enough food then change some workers to librarians.

                        Googliegrad: crawler forest -> farm

                        HongHu KongHu: new crawler sent to nut bonus with new farm. (Do we need the second farm? If no then the second farm job needs to be changed before the former moves.)

                        Kommie City: need a crawler for farm

                        Michanopolis: Crawler energy->farm at nut bonus. Need another crawler.

                        Sorry I wasn't able to go over all bases.

                        After all is done please double check see if all rivered forest are worked and such.

                        The last thing, Kody said there's some landmark names hidden under some of our bases. If we can find them, we should release a couple for the CyCons.

                          The turn was downloaded 3 times. One from me and I suppose one from Googlie. Please people, try look at it before the turn chat! We need as many suggestions we could!

                          I wonder if my previous post should be posted in another thread? What do people think? Should we actually detopped all the discussion thread for different department and top something like preturn discussion?

                                Static University: next turn build crawler.

                                Vevtopic: crawler (16,18) on forest move to (13,15) farm and crawl nutrients next turn, next turn move worker currently on farm to forest on (16,18).

                                Central Planning: worker (2,1,0)->(1,2,2); crawler moved to nut bonus crawl food; 2 doctors changed to librarians; colony pod added back to base.

                                Gogliegrad: crawler moved from forest to farm (convoying 2 nutrints); have colony pod to the south join Googliegrad next turn.

                                Michanopolis: Crawler energy->farm at nut bonus; building crawler (to be completed next turn); colony pod rejoined base;

                                New Moscow: no change this turn; after Recycling Tanks complete, build formers;
