  • Poll: OFFICIAL: CyCon Relationship

The CyCon has met the Drones. It is expected that they will obtain our commlink from the Drones and contact us soon. Alternatively we'll be able to get their link from the Drones.

Therefore it looks like now it is a good time to decide what initial stance we are going to stand with them.

Non-permanent without set time limits, or with set time limits (I really don't care much on that particular point), though I did vote for without set time limits.

Most Hive members are in agreement that the CyCon would add greatly to the power of the Hive-Drone permipact, and as such we have decided (or are about to decide) to follow down the path of seeking a pact with them. Our concern should be with the CyCon reliability and trustworthiness, their actions with PEACE in the recent fiasco need to be taken into the equation. Though I personally have not changed my stance toward the CyCon because of this, it was something that needs to be addressed.

I feel the recent incident is actually in favor of us. For if we have been considering backstabbing, their action made sure that we are not the bad guy. Aren't it fun sometimes.

Good point, we're not the first faction to have backstopped anyone (in fact we have honoured all our agreements to date), and also the recent discussion has only brought to light the fact that backstabbing is an acceptable tactic.

Basically, CyCon isn't to be trusted. We should procede with caution in all our dealings with them.

I believe that, after the Pirate incident, we definetly should not permipact with these guys.

              Backstop

              1. To serve as a backstop for.

              2. a. To support or bolster: “The firm lacks a topflight strategic-consulting arm to backstop its technology gurus” (Alex Beam).

              b. To substitute for (another) in an emergency.

So we haven't either support or substitute another person.

Our CMN, who art in all forums,
                  hallowed by thy name.
                  Should our Faction win,
                  thy will be done,
on Chiron as it failed on Earth.
Give us this day, our daily data.
                  And forgive us our experiments,
as we forgive those who experiment upon us.
And lead us not into the fungus,
but deliver us from the Hive.
For thine is the map, the power and and the glory.
                  For ever and ever.
                  Amen.
Hmm, I wonder what that could mean?

Their Acolyte's prayer was in their first 3D edition - way back in the days when Kody was doing his run of Snoopy cartoons and the Hive rhetoric was running rampant.

I doubt if it has any current significance

Pact with them with a time limit of twenty or ten years and see then if it is to be renewed, make sure they will respect claims to our lands and any others we claim in the interum and possibly try the same kind of border strategy I suggested with the uni if nessecary and possible.

yeah - they were brilliant. I showed them to some of my golfing buddies who couldn't believe I spent so much time on a computer game. I told them I had met some really neat, creative people through it, and they said "Yeah - like what"

They couldn't believe that Schultz himself hadn't done the cartoons, so good were they.

Ok so is the prayer the one that they published in codes in 3D once? (I don't mean to get anybody going to crack codes again. )
