“Look!” Comrade Forlani exclaimed as she pointed her delicate fingers to the north. Far away, on the high ridge of the riverbank two men stood. Cold winds brushed their unadorned clothes, but the two men stood unmoved like stones. As the transport approached closer, the strong lines of the men’s faces became clearer. The short man that stood in the front turned to his companion and appeared to be saying something. As the latter nodded, he left. “Why did the short man leave just when we arrive? And he seems to be so rigid! I think I like the big guy better.” Claire whispered beside Comrade HongHu’s ears. “Might him be a little old for you, dear Claire?” HongHu teased. “Oh I’ve always liked man who’s a little older than me. Look at his broad shoulder and strong hands, so dependable …” Comrade Vev interrupted disapprovingly, “Be cautious with your mouths, Comrades. The short man you mentioned just now is Buster, the leader of the Free Drones.”
The transport parked. The big man walked toward them and shook hands with Comrade Vev: “I am Mongoose, a pleasure to have you, comrades.”
“Pleased to meet you, Ambassador Mongoose. I’m Vev. Chairman Voltaire asked me to bring his regards to Chairman Buster.”
“Thank you.” The man’s voice is calm but warm. “I hope the weather hasn’t been too harsh on you,” He turned to greet Comrade HongHu.
“Not at all, Ambassador,” Comrade HongHu replied, and was surprised to find out how small her own hand is compare to the Ambassador’s strong and firm hand.
When the Ambassador turned his eyes toward Comrade Forlani, she step toward him and hugged him. Mongoose was not surprised, being the ambassador for the Free Drones for all these time he had learnt not to be surprised for many things. He smiled at Comrade Forlani, “Comrade Forlani Claire, I have heard so much about you.”
