  • PUT issue

What will happen to Caboolture? No offical demands or comms have been received form neither Hive nor Drones. Hive turn is still in a stall, and we do not known what is exactly happening. Do they really need a poll for future of PUT? Perhaps they will offfer us to cede PUT as a vasal state? Thoughts.

    My thoughts:

PUT as a vassal (so council vote) gives them an important vote for issues which are 1 vote/factionwise. Need to check which ones are that, but first thought is about UN charter, Double Trade Rates and Sealevel issues. Anyway, not much we can do for that. We might find out then that Jamski is supposed to 'lead' PUT for Hive. Talking about a plot in such a case...

Secondly: how do the PUT members in our forum feel that way?
Archaic is gone I think, and only Minute Mirage and General Tacticus seem a bit around. If those don't respond to this fairly soon, we'll have to decide for PUT without them I think.

Thirdly: Stall the signing of a peace treaty if they're willing till the end of CC turn. We might have a chance to take back DBTS.

And as last, I support peace talks with them, even if it means I can't execute my 'surprise' on them

Btw, I suggest asking them now if 'rumours' about a Unification between Hive and Drones are correct (that Drone member in Hive), and if this means that peace with Hive means automatically peace with Drones.

It might turn out that Hive perhaps wants to stop (their confusing strategy again) but that Drones simply moves on, using Hive bases as a jumpboard.

Who nows the what the deals between them are regarding to CPU territory, Buster may be after our SP.

As far I can tell, Hive maybe be willing ( as HongHu implies), but can we hold against Drones then? Hardly. And what is the point of signing peace when they are obviously winning? Would they doublecross Drones and ally with us? Hardly I think. And I already inquired about unification.

I propose to tell them we're interested, start a poll here in the forum, but whatever outcome of that poll, sent a truce proposal to Hive. And meanwhile still letting our military expedition move towards their target

We should not stop our plans untill Hive itselfs sents a peace treaty through ingame diplo channel.

If the poll is negative, we can still redraw that truce proposal we sent earlier.

About Drones: it's the same discussion as before then. Do we allow a SP win a DG, or give a DG faction the honor, even if it is not us?

Re: the fate of PUT: do whatever is best for the CPU. I have no special attachment to PUT in particular, especially given how little is left of it.

I'm for whatever that ends this game the quickest. Personally, I'd prefer self-destructing the last base.

Ok, I'm in favour of self destruct myself. It's not like anyone is forced out of the DG then.

Check the Hive diplo thread, for roleplay purposes talks should be started, but I expect them to be unacceptable anyway.

I am too for selfdestructing for RP issues and speed issues: it would show that the last remnants of free research have rather chosen to kill themselves rather than be converted into mindless genejack drones.

I thought that perhaps the person who is in control of PUT (and any former PUT member who wants) could leave the CyCons forum? This of course relies on the integrity of the members heavily since PUT and CyCons have been so heavily involved and each knows the others password and so on. Of course the gods can moderate to a certain degree.

Another way would be the Hive dispatch a person to play the PUT turn without the former PUT members having to switch teams.

I'd like to hear what others think?
So, PUT members I need to be clear on two things:
are you for seldestroying last base or seceding it to Hive, and if you are for seceding, are you wiling to break with it from this forum or leave it to Hive turnplayer?
I need clear responses, like selfdestroy or do not selfdestroy Caboolture. I guess then Minute Mirage is then for selfdestroying then? What about you General Tacticus? Are you for selfdestroying?
I would prefer stalling the negotiation for as long as possible and then selfdestroying the last base.

Obstructor, this is HongHu feeling the ground, something she is very good at. Do not sent anything back before it is throughly discussed.
