  • Solution to the problems with Hive

In his tireless quest for peaceful solution your Second Function is making a suggestion.

I have learned that its only Voltaire and Arnelos in hive who want war with CPU. Hong Hu and Jamski are much more friendlier towards us. So we came up with possible solution.

Hive seems to have huge problems at home. The angels have landed near the hive with battle ogre MK2, they are landing more and more troops there and the Hive may not be able to hold them up for much longer. They are also afraid of the numerous Drone PBs their exact number remains a mystery but I'll get into that later. The drones also have choppers and the Hive is reported to be somewhat scared by all this. So...

The Hive wants to pact with us. I suggested that if we assist them and attack the angels thus easing the pressure back at the Hive, they will forget the whole thing with PEACE. After all, all they want with the PEACE is one(1) remaining peace base inside hive terrotory...they want to secure one(1) colony pods escape from the remaining bases. When they got their colony pod we can take the last remaning PEACE bases. Thats all they want(ed). But IF we'll help them, they are willing to for get the whole thing and let us assimilate PEACE. This I was promised.

Some Hiverians also want a lot deeper pact. They want us to pact with them and attack the drones to annihilate them for good. So it seems like Voltaire hasnt got many other Hiverians who believe in going to war with CPU. This poll is about a pact only with the PEACE-Angel issue. If this works out we can deeper the pact or withdraw from it.

So basicly the hive are offering us the keys to heaven. We would have 3 things we want the most right now. along with the infiltration info about the drone PBs, with the pact we would get:

    1) PEACE bases

    2) Peace with Hive

    3) The war with Angels suggested by Impaler sometime ago.

The only obstacle seems to be Voltaires chairmanship and his pro-drone attitude. I hope hes head is turned by powers frienly to CPU at hive.

What do you think about this? Poll's running for 4 days. Want to see the chat logs etc? Ask me!

well i like it for now...can we be sure this information is accurate? i dont want to be paranoid...but what if this is a plan of the hive to get us in to a war witht the angels so that we will weaken our defences so that they can destory us?

Yes of course it could be a scam, but the angels asked for a joint attack on the Hive no? Hardly a coincidence.

Usually a AI asks for a joint attack when it feels in decline.
Lauri, I have to go for a few hours now, but could you ask Maniac to let our probe foil mindcontrol the PEACE cp, then continue to infiltrate the Angels. It gives us more info on how strong Angels are military and we can make a crossreference to what Hive tells.

Also, I want to see that log, then, with that log and the contents of that chat, I will ask you to ask further questions to the Hive ambassadors. Something like near what base they have landed, what Angel units and how many are at present (MY2158) on Hive territory and what sort of units they have destroyed + what transport ships the Angels used to land.

A second thought. If Angel units really have landed on Hive and are threatening some Hive base(s), we don't have anything to fair from them in our war with PEACE. I find it suspicious that Hive can spend a needlejet, laser foil and cutter near PEACE units when those same units could attack the Angel invasion force.

It would help if, when it is their turn, to send us a pact pré-accepted, so that we can check their claims. In case they object, tell them that we can start harassing the Angels only next turn as wel, and that a pré-accepted pact is for us a first point to trust them (meagrely).

At present, I'm in favour of letting them solve their own problems, but I don't vote yet. I wait till I have more info.

IMHO you have been heavily lied to. Our brand new Angel infiltration information shows that:
          a) They don't have nor ever had a Battle Ogre MkII.
          b) They only have a few troops causing pacifism drones. So they can't have many troops on foreign soil.
          c) They only have one transport foil. Not really sufficient to launch an overseas invasion.
          d) The Drones can't yet have planet busters. The last we knew about the drone tech levels, some 3 years ago IIRC, was that they didn't even have PolySoft yet. Planet busters are still a couple of decades away.
          e) If only Voltaire and Arnelos would be in favour of war, why then did Octavian X post the Council thread, and why did HongHu heavily support the motion?

Lauri, you have been misinformed. This is really a stupid trick to fall for. Hive is ready to back up PEACE while unexisting BattleOgre MkII is threathening their lands. They are a barking dog, but they will eventually attack us. And how did Drones suddenly get PB technology? Impossible. I would rather pact with Drones against Hive.
