  • Triplex production

    There are quite a few proposals flying around in the IAF thread for what to build next in Triplex. Therefore: a poll!

    Options I included are:

    a) 0-1-7 cruiser transport
    We'll need more transports soon to ship all our troops to PUT territory, and to send transports filled with probe teams to our enemies. This can be done in our most productive base: Triplex. On the other hand we can build a transport in any other base, as they all have Naval Yards. But Triplex is currently the only base with a command center. Therefore?:

    b) plasma garrison
    A unit built here would get (I think) disciplined morale instead of very green, due to the Command Center and Children's Creche.

    c) probe team
    Again, due to the command center, probe teams built here will get a higher morale. You'll probably say: "We already have LOTS of probes". But the problem is they are all infantry probes with 1 movement points. If we want to go steal techs from other factions we need to build probe teams with TWO movement points: one to land besides the target base, and one to probe the base.

    d) supply crawler
    Very handy to harvest that 7-mineral mine near Triplex. On the other hand, a crawler can be built everywhere.

    I put a two day voting limit.

    Btw, discussion about what to do with other base productions can be done here too I propose. IIRC there was some discussion about AP, LL etc. And should we keep producing all those crawlers with the Drones breathing down our neck. Or wait until we have DAP before we switch production?

    Naval yards are everywhere, so transports can be build everywhere.

    How comes those probes have only one movement point? Were these created with a scout as base? I thought that the probe ability automatically gave 2 movements.

      The standard unit which you get a design of after discovering Planetary NetWorks is based on a rover chassis, and thus has 2 movement points. But is perfeclty possible to design one with an infantry chassis, which is what about all factions have done when you look at us, PUT and the Hive datalinks. The advantage is that they only cost 2 instead of 3 mineral rows. And if the probe's purpose is to defend against probe attacks instead of probing someone else, that extra movement point is useless anyway.

        Well I do also think we are going to need more probes, and especially those for probing.

          I favor a Transport because it will be nessary to bring anything anyware, yes I know other bases could make them but it will be MUCH faster in Triplex, also if we want to make a supply crawler we will need a transport to move it onto the mineral bonus.
