What I mean is, they will do what it takes to win, not honour a friendship between the two. If the Hive thinks it can win easier without the Drones and with us, they may switch. Neither is in the relationship for the sake of it, IMHO, they are both their for mutual gain. If they don't gain enough from it, then they may switch.

If the Hive in some 36 hours, when the CyCon turn needs to be sent, hasn't given a response yet to my message sent yesterday to them, should I or Drogue send the message to PEACE?
Sure we need to send a message to PEACE, but is there a concensus for as how the message contents is? Drogue had a comment, and I haven't seen an update of the message in light of that comment.

Drogue's suggestion is not to send anything that we wouldn't want to reach the Hive. But the point of this message is more or less incriminating the Hive, so PEACE will hopefully be less willing to cooperate with them. So when following Drogue's suggestion, we should send no message at all.
So basically we have to weigh the likelihood that we can still sign a permapact with the Hive (and thus not send any message to PEACE) against the likelihood that no matter what we do or say, the Hive's going for a co-op with the Drones (and thus send PEACE the message, hoping it will reduce cooperation between PEACE and Hive-Drones). Yesterday I sent a message to the Hive, asking about their attitude towards CPU, and how they feel towards cooperation etc. If they still haven't replied anything yet in 36 hours, not even a small "message received - we're discussing it", I think it is a good indication that they have no intention at all anymore to cooperate with us, and that they're just trying to stall us from understanding the truth (which would in this case be that they're going for a Hive-Drone co-op). In that case I think we should send the message together with posting the PEACE turn, so PEACE receives it before they can give any tech to the Hive in their turn.

Tass, assuming you're reading this thread, I'd like to ask you something. RP wise, wouldn't a faction which succeeds in eliminating another in this sort of faction (The capture of all bases belonging to that faction by one single faction) have gained full and total access to that faction's datalinks? Fair enough if some of the info is destroyed, of course, but it seems logical to me that at least a portion of PEACE's info regarding, for instance, Drone and Hive operations, would be released to the CPU.
Afterall, I've still got those unethical biologists creating the hybrid Human/Mind Word "Cat Girls". I'm sure their ministrations would be as effective as any other form of torture to gain what we could from captured PEACE foes.
Hi foolish_icarus, (cc to Makahlua, johndmuller and Gert, Hercules - others have told me they're not active anymore or haven't read previous PMs yet)
under no circumstances would I be willing to surrender to your faction while there remains anything left of PEACE. I will probably remain in the ACDG, but even then I might join another team instead of yours.
I hope you aren't seriously considering to join the Drones or Hive, and I hope you don't consider the Consciousness the ultimate evil monsters, and the Hive or Drones paradise. If you do and if you are currently cooperating with them, we have some info about the actions of your supposed "friends" towards you in the recent past that you might find interesting...
Greetings,
Maniac
I've sent this. We've opened a new line of communication, and depending on the Hive replies in the next two days, we can decide whether we post the full message, or not continue this.
Oh dear. Let them rot in hell. However I would suggest taking their last base, since if we don't, they could merge with Hive or Drones. That would give the Drones the tech's and infiltration PEACE have.

O, that tech will find it ways to Hive or Drones anyway, whatever we do with PEACE. A sort of 'welcome in' gift from moving PEACE members.
But I'm a bit confused with that 'taking their last base'. In MP game like this can we just conquer the last base of a human faction, or does that faction needs to transfer it to the conquerer? Just wondering because I thought I red something in this matter.

Hive played a different kind of game. Apparently nobody paid attention to me or believed me when I talked about the power or honour polls and my efforts.
