  • Two Logic Loop issues

    I've got two simple questions I'd like to know your opinion about:

    1) Do you support switching a worker from the Logic Loop (LL) nutrient square (4-1-0 production) to the monolith (2-2-2) until the Colony Pod is finished?

    This was proposed to prevent to wasting resources:

    If we continue with the CP though, I'd suggest we temporarily switch production from the nutrient square to the monolith. Because as things are going now, we will just reach size 3 when we shrink back to size 2. If we now work the monolith, we'll first shrink to size 1 before immediately growing back to size 2 due to already having filled two nutrient rows in the box. The advantage of switching to the monolith is that we won't waste a nutrient row and have some extra production and energy instead.
    2) Do you support nervestapling Logic Loop when it reaches size 3, is building a secret project, and if we by taking no action the base would riot?

    This would give us ten droneless years where we could build an SP while the base is at size 3, so we wouldn't have to build a rec commons first before starting on an SP.

    I think the extra growth is a big bonus personally. I think Nuts and Mins works best together. Then 3rd goes on Monolith personally.

      I won't vote on the Nervestapling, but will consider it later. I am not sure it will be worth the effects, and I think we should get a RC first. We will need more than 10 turns to finish it from the 3rd person.

        Actually, having thought about it, oif we go to 3 people, won't we get riots? That isn't good at all, so I will vote to switch instead. We will need doctors to complete the CP with the nuts.

          Indeed. Let me pull some figures out of my arse to make things more clear.

          When next turn, MY 2117 we open the turn, the situation will be as follows:
          • 20 of the 27 nutrients required to grow to size 3
          • 16 of the 27 minerals required to finish the CP
          • an annual energy production of "2"

          If we keep the current worker setup this will happen:

          MY 2118:
          ->21/27 minerals, CP incomplete
          ->24/27 nutrients, base size 2
          ->2 energy from Logic Loop after one year

          MY 2119:
          ->26/27 minerals, CP incomplete
          ->27/27 nutrients, base size 2
          ->2+2=4 energy over two years

          MY 2120:
          ->4 mins in mineral box, CP complete, base shrinks to size 1
          ->Base size 1, which means 27 of the 18 required nutrients to grow are accumulated. Naturally base directly grows to size 2. Nutrient box is made empty, making us lose 9 nutrients. Four new nutrient are added in the box. Result: 4/27 nutrient, base size 2
          ->6 energy after 3 years

          New let's see what the monolith setup gives...

          MY 2118:
          ->22/27 minerals, CP incomplete
          ->22/27 nutrients, base size 2
          ->4 energy after one year (two extra from the monolith compared to the other situation)

          MY 2119:
          ->28/27 minerals, CP complete. 1 min goes to next production item. Base shrinks to size 1.
          ->22 nutrients accumulated from previous turn. However only 18 are required to grow to size 2. Thus base directly grows to size 2. Nutrient box is made empty, making us lose 4 nutrients. After that 2 more are added, putting us on 2/27.
          ->8 energy after two years

          MY 2120: Let's run another year to compare with the other situation.
          ->6 minerals added to the mineral box, giving an end result of 7.
          ->2 nuts added, to 4/27
          ->12 energy after three years.

          So when making the comparison:

          If we continue working the nutrient square:
          ->CP ready in MY 2120
          ->1 min in mineral box
          ->4 nuts in nutrient box
          ->6 energy accumulated, probably 3 credits and 3 labs.

          If we work the monolith:
          ->CP ready in MY 2119, one year earlier
          ->7 mins in mineral box; 6 more than the other worker setup
          ->4 nuts in nutrient box; no difference
          ->12 energy accumulated over three years. Due to our eco/labs/psych settings, the extra 6 energy will be labs. Multiplied by 1.2 (due to +2 Research SE setting) this gives us an extra 7.2 labs compared to the other setup.

          So we lose nothing by switching to the monolith. In fact, we should have switched two years back for optimum result. Now we're just wasting nutrients, minerals and energy.

            How can one argue with your logic?

            I voted to switch the worker, but I'll hold off judgement on the nervestapelling for now.

              It seems that next turn, we will therefore change the production. As for nervestapling, I think that should be the absolute last resort, but I do not think we should rule it completely out.
