  • Southern close-to-Manifold base locations

It's time for another base location poll, now we have a colony pod moving south. I've taken a screenie and indicated some squares which seem suitable for bases. Depending on whether or not you want base radii to overlap, I think we can build two or three bases on the squares I selected. Therefore this is a multiple-choice poll. If you want a base on an unselected square, please write-in and tell us your preferred square. Three days time limit.

Brown and Gray. When playing as the CyCon, I normally find that building bases 3 squares directly north/south/east/west of a base, in a grid, generally works the best. I did not always think that, but I think the more bases we can build the better, even with some overlap. Gray is on a river, near the Manifold Nexus (ie. we're not likely to lose it) and is near the sea nutrients. Brown is about as close to it as I would want to build it, as anything less than 3 horizontal/vertical squares overlaps too much IMHO. The land minerals I favour crawling after having farmed/condensed it.

I vote white... we're on a river, are close to the nuts, hove no overlap, are costal, are very near the manifold nexus, leave room for building a base on the tile to the left currently obscured by the fog, and leave room to the right. Plus, we can then call it Boolean Bay.

Hmmm... It seems it'll have to be a compromise again...

I'll change my vote to White, to make that a majority, because then we can build on light blue too, and maybe somewhere near puke too. More bases is good
Since that will give a majority for White, we can put the current CP going to there, and then vote on the next one, taking that as a set. Voting on many at once means people vote in groups, and the top couple might be incompatible. Therefore, I think we need to poll again for the next one to be built.

Ok, though we'd better wait until that area is completely explored.

Sure, although I think we'll have another one in a few turns, so we can't wait too long, but yes, let us explore more first.

Don't forget... it also leaves room to build a base in the currently-obscured costal square two tiles north of that scout patrol.

That would overlap a total of 9 squares, 3 with Logic Loop and 6 with soon-to-be-built Boolean Bay. I think 3 squares diagonally apart is too close, although I would think 3 squares horizontally or vertically would be ok. Maybe at some point, but I think while we want to expand aour territory, having bases that close together is not as good as having them a little further apart.
