  • Turn Discussion

Until there starts being more activity in this forum, I'm simply going to report the results of all the turns in this one thread.

Anyway.....popped a pod with the scout, it was a monolith. Then the game crashed. ><;; Loaded it again, popped the pod again, this time it's worms. I quickly loaded the Ogre on the Foil then. The completed Colony Pod started moving south. We didn't have enough credits to rush one of the others I'm afraid.

As always, sorry about the Pirate graphics. Still got to reset these factions.

    2119:

Scout survived worm attack. Is currently En Route to the nearest Monolith
Ogre has been beached. Foil will proceed to move back to Mir Lab, to allow Colony Pod(s) to be ferried across to the rich base sites
Zoloto Gold rushes CP for 15 credits
All other units continuing assigned tasks

Well, until such moment as anything worth discussing comes up, I think we're all happy seeing Archaic at the helm - he knows his way around SMAC, after all. That said, it used to be more action here when GT was around. Nobody knows where he went?

Why the gold rush, btw, Archaic? We can probably afford it, but how many turns did it save us?

GT's on holidays for just this week. He should be back before Thursday/Friday IIRC.

It saved us 4 turns IIRC. Given that we're making 6 credits a turn (At 40% econ), and that Ind. Auto. isn't expected for a while yet, we may as well use these credits while we've got them. We really need to expand as much as possible ATM, especially with the seeming likelyhood of another player somewhere to our south. Once we've claimed the ruins, I'll feel a lot safer.

Hmm. I dunno, we're getting a mighty good roadblock on the south leg with the southern sea base, so I don't think the ruins are strategically important, although a runis base is always good for other reasons. The push east would seem more important if carving of land ASAP is a priority. Not that I don't agree with doing both

We may as well try for both. In all cases, we've got monolith's. However, to the South I believe we've got a better chance of meeting another faction, so I'd prefer to claim that land now, while we can. While I'm currently sending a scout up there to check, I don't believe there's actually any more land up north from here, and while we certainly will cover this island with bases, if the mainland is to the south, then we need to start expanding down there ASAP.

Ok. What's the turn ETA on new tech decisions?

And we're still on the beeline. Perhaps a poll of where to go after Ind. Eco would be interesting soon?

Just regarding my whereabouts - like Archaic said, I've been on holiday, and after we got back I found that my computer wouldn't start up, so I had to wait for a couple more days while it was fixed, but I'm back now

Can anyone give a brief summary of what's happened while I've been gone? I'm suffering from information overload right now...

                            Any word on the turn?

                            - it's now 47 hours since it was posted (and it's been downloaded 8 times besides my download, so it's in circulation)

                            G.

Ok, now that I've got WinZip reinstalled on my computer, I can actually play the turn - the problem is, I have no real idea what we planned on doing. We get Planetary Networks this turn, and we can then go on to research Industrial Automation (which I presume we're going to), but I haven't got a clue where all the CPs are supposed to go.
