I have made my desire clear to construct a Supercollidor in Concordia. Also, GeneralTacticus has stated in his orders the desire to research a Longevity Vaccine. In the near or far future, other secret projects that benefit a single base, like the Theory of Everything, the Network Backbone and the Space Elevator will become available. Now my question is where we should build those. It's better we decide this a little ahead (at least for the LoVa, SuCo and ToE) to avoid discussions between future governors.

In any case, I'd like to propose to build as many as possible of them in Concordia. Not only does it have the largest economy and science production (AFTER the hybrid forest and biology lab is completed, and it enters a golden age in two turns); Jedinica Vrijstaat as a whole also has the largest terraformation and industrial potential, so it can more easily construct an energy park than its southern neighbours.

    Please discuss.

No way. *All of them* must be built in Concordia.

Its what I do in all my own games. I'll also stick the network backbone on your list (looking ahead just a little) I like to get one base above 1000 labs every game, if I can.

Frankly I think it would be more efficient to build them in New Apolyton... but maybe we could build a new HQ in Concordia

In the final analysis, I say we put it all in Concordia

Remind me, does this bonus apply to specialists or not ?

            You read my thoughts.

Remind me, does this bonus apply to specialists or not ?
Yes, someone please remind me too... I think so however. It has been my impression that normal base facilities like an energy bank or a network node increase the productiveness of specialists, so in that case it should be the same for SPs. That would be another argument for Concordia, as Jedinica Vrijstaat, with all its condensers and soil enrichers, can support more specialists.

I think no, on the contrary. Specialist are pure numbers, regardless of unefficiency, facilities, etc... But I m not positive they are alos not concerned by SPs.

Just load up the save, open Concordia's screen, look at the econ/labs/psych totals, switch the empath to an engineer, and look at the e/l/p totals again.

                Before: 68/58/23
                After: 70/63/18

That's a heckuva lot more than the unmodified +1/+2/-2 difference between the two specialists.

I just did a few more tests on specialists, and they are most definately affected by facilities (ie a librarian in a base with a network node and a Research Hospital produces 6 lab points, not 3... it goes up to 8 with a fusion lab, I think).

About the super science thing, here's a plan that's been brewing in my mind:

After NG, get BE for clean reactors.
After that, get Superstring Theory and Silksteel, then get Monopole Magnets (one prereq for Unified Theory)
Then get Applied Rel. (the other prereq for UT, and it gives the supercollider)
Insta-build the supercollider, then research UT and insta-build the theory of everything (in the same base, of course.
Optionally go for MMI after this to get thinkers (same lab output as librarians, but +1 psych too). In either case make lots of tech specialists.
Get every remaining tech in the game in a little more than a term

I'll keep that one empath though. When the hybrid forest is completed, the psych production will increase, and that one empath should be enough to put Concordia in a Golden Age, which gives the base +1 economy and should cause a switch of commerce from Centralis to Concordia, giving the base the biggest GDP.

Yea, enough psych to get a GA is very important... but labs from there! ... or econ, if you really want ecs, but I think getting tech faster is more important and ultimately more profitable.

I just hope it doesn't cause "perpetual facility building" syndrome in our governors... just because you can build it, doesn't mean you should before you do other things.

Well that's why I urged Hercules to present a list with the military units needed, and then divide the tasks between the regions proportional to their mineral production. Hopefully then the DIA would have been willing to cooperate and urge all regions, including Aurillion, to build several units. But alas...

                          Hmm...

A standard defender: 1-3-1 (fission) costs 20 mins. (30 for fusion). It can be given ECM or Trance for free.
A standard infantry: 6-3-1 (fusion) costs 30 mins.
A standard noodle: 6-1-12 (fusion) costs 30 mins. It can be given Deep Radar for free.
                          A standard interceptor: <6>-1-9 costs 40 mins.

And then there's naval units, but those should be built close to the intended theater of operation.

I could have Akiria pump out a couple noodles and a bunch of defenders (on the understanding that they'll be rehomed to the bases they wind up in, I can't spare the minerals or put up with 2 drones for each thing out of territory).

i was never specifically presented with a list (to my knowledge)

Indeed. We're still waiting on Hercules...
Btw, should I organize a poll in what base to build the Longevity Vaccine, Supercollidor and Theory of Everything. If proposal 6 of the Maniac Reforms wins, a poll must be held before issuing the construction of a secret project.
