  • Turn Report 2228-2235

Okay once again, some of the main events:

    1) Promotheus Virus epidemic at Deus Ex Machina, which spread to Zanarkand Gate.

    2) We got a Treaty with the University; they want Advanced Subatomic Theory for a Pact. We also got AAA from them.

    3) The Hive took three more University bases.

    4) We stole D:AP from Yang.

    5) We devleoped Doctrine:Initiative, and in the absence of an official poll, started researching Fusion Power.

    6) We experienced a couple of fungal pops, one naar TA, which was quickly dealt with by some Empath units, and one near NS, which was killed by the local garrison.

    7) We obtained maps of Miriam's territory from Morgan for SFF.

    8) One borehole was built near TA and another wil soon be built near Valhalla.

    * Now talking in #smacdg
    GT^Commish> ?
GT^Commish> No idea what happened then.
TKG> maniac: in case some people go to EF net...
TKG> change the topic there to "come to apolyton's chat" or something...
Mania^gov> Yes, how do I chnage the topic again?
    GT^Commish> good question.
TKG> double click in the window
TKG> it should open a box
Mania^gov> Before smacdg it was years ago I used mIRC
TKG> topic is at the top...
    * The-Evangelion-Freak has joined #smacdg
    GT^Commish> hello.
    Mania^gov> Topic history?
    The-Evangelion-Freak> Hello
    Mania^gov> hi! :-)

    * ChanServ sets mode: -o TKG
    Mania^gov> Topic changed
Mania^gov> Anyway, GT, are you still among us?
TKG> just keep tha window open, or it'll reset
    TKG> i think
    Mania^gov> ok
    GT^Commish> yes.
Mania^gov> Shall we start then? :-)
GT^Commish> I'm trying to read the rest of my subscribed threads so I can close them and play without them
    screwing things up.
    * The-Evangelion-Freak is now known as TEF|Justice
GT^Commish> The game does strange things if you have too many toher windows open.
    * TEF|Justice is now known as Kass^Justice
Mania^gov> I see. So you learn the orders by heart if I understand you well?? :-s
GT^Commish> No. I have them printed out.
Mania^gov> subscribed threads = order thread?
    TKG> i opened/played sik's builder game last night
    Mania^gov> Ah I see. That's easier. :-)
    TKG> he's god, that man
Mania^gov> Depends - I don't like his base foundation style.
    * TKG shrugs
    TKG> whatever works
    Mania^gov> Have you downloaded mine?
    TKG> not yet
GT^Commish> Maniac: No, all the other threads I've subscribed to.
    TKG> i havn't finished with siks yet
TKG> i never build that close. perhaps i should
    TKG> ind auto in 2110!
Mania^gov> I guess we will see what base placement works in a smacdg PBEM game.
    GT^Commish> Ok, done.
Mania^gov> That 2110 had more to do with luck than skill - meeting Morgan.
    TKG> true
    TKG> still
TKG> wow. someone called crawlers SMAC's worst feature
GT^Commish> maybe they just meant they were unbalanced?
    TKG> both
Mania^gov> They make the game too easy.
    GT^Commish> precisely.
    TKG> worst feature though?
Mania^gov> Well the AI might be worse.
Kass^Justice> I have a shameful confession to make. I never got the hang of crawlers :f
    Mania^gov> *laughter* ;-)))))))) j/k
Kass^Justice> Whooped the game's arse on Thinker though
    * TKG will be playing transcend VERY soon
    TKG> erm actually
TKG> i think i started a transcend game and saved it at 2101...
Kass^Justice> I'll play SMAC when I get a new computer, or Hell freezes over... whichever comes first...
Mania^gov> Not using crawlers, Nothing to be ashamed of - it kept SMAC longer interesting for you I presume.
    Kass^Justice>
Mania^gov> Perhaps asking stupid questions, but are you already playing?? (or should we call off
    this session?)
Kass^Justice> I'll have to AFK for the time being
GT^Commish> Yes, I'm play. Just not very fast.
    Mania^gov> ok
GT^Commish> Now, does anyone remember what Drogue said to do with those scout partols down south?
    TKG> can't say i do...
GT^Commish> TKG: Did you approve Maniac's rush requests?
Mania^gov> nope. Since I became governor of Jedinica Vrijstaat, I hardly have been up-to-date anymore about the
    outer world.
    Mania^gov> yep
    Mania^gov> :-)
    GT^Commish> ok.
Mania^gov> in the Internal Affairs thread
    GT^Commish> ?
TKG> keep track of how much we're spending?
TKG> or, tell me and i will
GT^Commish> TD is stockpiling energy, not building a net node.
TKG> though i can't guarantee i'll be here the hwole time
Mania^gov> Well that should be changed
    * mrmitchell has joined #smacdg
    mrmitchell> hello
    mrmitchell> cya
    * mrmitchell has left #smacdg

GT^Commish> Maniac: Ok, but the rush will have to wait until next turn.
    * ChanServ sets mode: +o TKG

    GT^Commish> hello.
    * ChanServ sets mode: -o TKG
    Lemmy> just haveinga looksy
Mania^gov> Ok, we're as busy as usual. :-)
GT^Commish> Welll this is odd. I checked the poll for Centralis boreholes and the only one which hasn't been
definitely approved is the one which causes no ED.
    GT^Commish>
Mania^gov> the one not in the base radius? That I find logical
    TKG> yup
Mania^gov> You waste 6 minerals by crawling it
    TKG> i never crawl boreholes
Lemmy> i never crawl in any holes either...my clothes get dirty
Mania^gov> Indeed. Me neither. So I voted against that borehole.
    * Lemmy was kicked by ChanServ (KICK by TKG)
TKG> use of horrendously bad humour while on duty!!!
GT^Commish> Maniac: The point of building it there was as a replacement for an energy park, as it wouldproduce
    more energy.
    * Lemmy has joined #smacdg
    Lemmy>
TKG> use of horrendously bad humour while on duty!!!
    GT^Commish> So what's the problem?
Mania^gov> I thought the exact same thing. :-)
Lemmy> i wondered where this window went
Mania^gov> Cost-effectiveness. Better things to do with your formers.
    TKG> i agree
Lemmy> *** You were kicked from #smacdg by ChanServ (KICK by TKG)
Lemmy> didn't even have the guts to kick me yourself! :P
    TKG> i wasn't op
    GT^Commish> Maniac: Like...?
    TKG> boreholes in base radius
    TKG> condensors and such
    Mania^gov> For example. :-D
    * Mania^gov is glad he didn't have to search for an answer.
    Mania^gov> Or terraforming Jedinican territory.
    * ChanServ sets mode: -n
GT^Commish> Oh well, this isn't an issue to be debated in the chat.
    TKG> true
    GT^Commish> oh f*ck.
    GT^Commish> No orders for Akiria.
    TKG>
    Mania^gov> Ah you noticed. :-(
GT^Commish> Ok, I guess this qualifies as an emergency.
    Lemmy> baaaaaad drogue
    Mania^gov> I'd say so as well. :-)
GT^Commish> Ok, Herc wants the transport with probes ehading to the Hive upgraded, but he didn't specify what.
GT^Commish> So what should it be upgraded to?
    TKG> plasma?
    TKG> probably plasma....oooh expensive
GT^Commish> My thoughts too. Costs the same as synthametal. Should we add trance?
    TKG> not if it costs.
    Mania^gov> Hercules is coming.
    Mania^gov> Ask him.
GT^Commish> Plasma only adds 9 mins over unarmoured, and Trance adds another nine.
    TKG> nah
TKG> or you could ask him
GT^Commish> Maniac: The thing is, if I can deal with this, I can end the turn. It's the last thing left.
Mania^gov> Darn: Herc doesn't know how to get to Apolyton.
    TKG> do you?
    TKG> is he on mirc?
Mania^gov> Wait a minute. I'll ask him about the transport
    Mania^gov> Yes EFnet
GT^Commish> well, we have another (less imediate) problem: The Hive has a missile foil out somewhere, and it
seems to be uncomfortably close to our probe foils.
Mania^gov> Could someone please come to EFnet to explain Herc mIRC, how to get the to poly?
    Mania^gov> thanks KG
GT^Commish> TKG: Upgrading to Trance Plasma would cost 70 ECs.
    TKG> ok
GT^Commish> So does it have your approval?
    TKG> yes it does
    GT^Commish> ok, good.
Kass^Justice> Does the ACDG FAQ have anything regarding joining IRC with mIRC, etc?
    TKG> no it doesn't
    GT^Commish> 2228 compelte.
TKG> if you write something, i'll add it
    GT^Commish> complete
    TKG> PM it to me
    Kass^Justice> TKG, ok
Mania^gov> with an upgrade to 03t-3?
    GT^Commish> Yes.
Kass^Justice> I'll write a tutorial for Trillian too... but enough of that
GT^Commish> Okay, we seem to have a mindworm infestation near UNRC.
TKG> oh no! not UNRC of all places
GT^Commish> And the University just lost New Azarmas to the Hive as well.
    * TKG has quit IRC (Quit: )
    GT^Commish> ?
    GT^Commish> Where did he go?
    GT^Commish> Oh well.
Mania^gov> He has left suddenly a few times before.
Mania^gov> He was usually back after a minute.
GT^Commish> Did enable factions to restart when we started the game?
    Mania^gov> I hope...
    GT^Commish>
    GT^Commish> Well?
    GT^Commish> Concordia just Drone Rioted.
Mania^gov> I think we should ask Crisler...
    Mania^gov> Aaaaaaaaaargh
    Kass^Justice> :/
GT^Commish> Ok, all it needed to calm them down was to make one of the fungus workers into a Doctor.
Kass^Justice> I'm installing programs, considering this pc is a piece of you-know-what, don't be surprised if I
get reset by the evil peer...
Mania^gov> What's the talent/citizen/drone/specialist ratio and how much food's left? Did you perform my worker
    allocation changes?
    GT^Commish> 3 talents
    GT^Commish> 6 citizens
    GT^Commish> 2 drones
Mania^gov> I guess you didn't then. There shouldn't have been fungal workers left IIRC. Did you perform my
    other worker allocation changes?
    GT^Commish> 2 doctors
    GT^Commish> 1 technician
    Mania^gov> ok thanks
GT^Commish> And there's nowhere to put them.
Mania^gov> technician? Could that please be changed into a librarian?
GT^Commish> The only forest in the base radius is already being worked.
    GT^Commish> It is.
GT^Commish> For some reason I didn't recognise it.
Mania^gov> ok. Btw, did you perform the worker changes for the other bases?
    GT^Commish> Yes.
    Mania^gov> ok thanks :-)
Lemmy> gonna go to bed now..bye
    Mania^gov> see ya
    * Lemmy has left #smacdg
    GT^Commish> bye.
    * TKG has joined #smacdg
    * ChanServ sets mode: +o TKG
Mania^gov> Ah there you are again. :-) I knew it.
    TKG> of course
    TKG> i had to go...for a short time
GT^Commish> Ah, just the man I wanted.
GT^Commish> Where did you want those two bases north of Jedinica again?
    Mania^gov> 14.54 and 19.59
    TKG> 14,54 and 19,59
    TKG> er, yeah
    GT^Commish> thanks.
Mania^gov> It has been polled so long ago I already know the coordinates by heart.
GT^Commish> Maniac: Ar eoyu sure you want a third CP built at Sheathed sword?
    GT^Commish> *Are you
Mania^gov> Sure I guess so. Hercules asked for a base at the (unexplored) peninsula NE of TeDo. Perhaps we can
    send the CP there?
    GT^Commish> Ok, just wondering.
GT^Commish> You seem to ahve asked for two, actually.
GT^Commish> When the base doesn't even have a recycling tanks.
Mania^gov> Well I added another Cp in the hope three bases could make an independent region without Sheathed
    Sword. Pure self-interest. :-D
    TKG> aha! he confessed
    GT^Commish>
    * herc2 has joined #smacdg
    Mania^gov>
    GT^Commish> hello.
    Mania^gov> Herc! :-)
    herc2> wow
TKG> glad you could make it
    Kass^Justice> MWIA is online
    Kass^Justice> Hi Herc
GT^Commish> What did you want that probe transport upgraded to? We gave it Trance Plasma.
    herc2> so what's happening
    TKG> MWIA?
    Kass^Justice>
GT^Commish> It's 2229, mindworms have landed near UNRC, Concordia rioted, and the Hive took New Azarmas.
    TKG> crappy
herc2> yes that's Ok fear hive aircraft later/ nearer
Mania^gov> Then I'll have to build AAA garrison instead of trance at Terminal Dogma. :-)
GT^Commish> And Yang seems to be researching at a stupednous rate; last turn he was 1 turn from IndAuto, now
    he's two turn EnvEcon.
GT^Commish> Maniac: Shoudl i speak to Zakharov about that?
TKG> all the more to steal
    herc2> have we got AMA
    Mania^gov> not yet
    Mania^gov> I hope soon
GT^Commish> TKG: We can't steal from him, we're not at war any more.
    TKG> you said yang
    TKG> yang no war?
    herc2> provoke Uni
GT^Commish> No, we're at war with Yang, but we can't steal AAA from Zakh, if that's what you meant.
GT^Commish> We can trade fot it though.
    GT^Commish> * for
GT^Commish> btw TKG: Who governs UNMI?
    TKG> M...I
    TKG> oh, marine institue
    TKG> te
    GT^Commish> Who?
    TKG> uhm, DBTS i think
    TKG> if not, drug does
GT^Commish> Well in that case, he's told me to give him his own former.
    * TKG has quit IRC (Quit: eating fude)
GT^Commish> Herc: Can I attack the worms outside UNRC?
GT^Commish> 21-16 odds, in our favour.
    herc2> with that odds Ok
GT^Commish> Ok, we won, but there's still another worm nearby.
herc2> can we wait a turn
GT^Commish> It will be able to attack next turn.
GT^Commish> I'm moving a rover down from NS to help out, but i doubt it'll get there in time.
    herc2> whats our level
    GT^Commish> level?
    GT^Commish> morale, you mean?
    GT^Commish> the patrol's now disciplined.
    Mania^gov> and % damage?
    GT^Commish> it's down to 70%.
GT^Commish> Ok Herc: What shoudl we build in Cyclops.
    GT^Commish> ?
herc2> whats there at the moment didyou build sentinel or change to former
    GT^Commish> it just built sentinel.
    herc2> ok build former
GT^Commish> Ok, now what to do with that foil being chased by a Spartan one.
GT^Commish> It seems to have gotten away for now, but we have no way of knowing where the Spartan foil is.
herc2> re UNRC have we Trance
    GT^Commish> no.
    herc2> explore carefully
    GT^Commish> Ok, 2229 complete.
herc2> re unRC can we upgrade will that help
    GT^Commish> No, it won't help.
GT^Commish> Ok, the Hive is experiencing Drone Riots at New Azarmas, and they're currently starving the
population to try and quell them.
GT^Commish> When we conquer the Hive, I'm going to put whoever was responsible on trial for war crimes and
hopefully put them in a Punishment Sphere.
    Kass^Justice> @ The Hive
Mania^gov> Hé? You better had not said that. Punishment spheres!! NOW you have problems with Pandemoniak!!
    Mania^gov> ;-)
GT^Commish> This is war criminals we're talking about here.
herc2> they may not survive anyhow
GT^Commish> And if he objects, that's just more ammunition for the progaganda war
GT^Commish> Bah. If they die, they get off easy.
    * Kass^Justice is now known as The-Evangelion-Freak
    The-Evangelion-Freak> Good night people
herc2> where is that Hive escapee who posted
    GT^Commish> Aaron Blackwell?
    GT^Commish> No idea
    herc2> yes
    herc2> He could've been a key witness
GT^Commish> His last post was on the 6th of january.
    GT^Commish> http://apolyton.net/forums/showthrea...30#post1596330
herc2> when this is over I'll check his whereabouts
GT^Commish> Ok, the road to cyclops is now complete.
herc2> I can use my fusion cycle to work
GT^Commish> IT is now possible to travel from Sheathed Sword to Cyclops by road without stopping.
    Mania^gov> woohoo!
    herc2> tourism
Mania^gov> Yes all those Akirians flocking to the beautiful region of Jedinica Vrijstaat. :-D
GT^Commish> Maniac: Have you been taking much interest in Nationstates recently?
herc2> Our southern climate is better. I mean Japanese schoolgirls visit for the english as a foriegn language.
its too cold and hilly up north
Mania^gov> nope. They are all double issues anyway. And I also kind of lost interest when Jedinica Vrijstaat
became a corrupt dictatorship and my economy collapsed because I refused to allow corporations spend money on
    political parties. :-(
    GT^Commish>
GT^Commish> ok, now that crawler HAS been rehomed to Valhalla, and is now on it's way north for the second time.
    Mania^gov> lol Great!
Mania^gov> Btw, how's the drone situation in Terminal Dogma. Without action taken I thought there would be a
    drone riot in MY 2231.
GT^Commish> Ok, last thing that needs to be doen for this turn: deal with the UNRC worms.
Mania^gov> Herc: usually the south pole is colder than the equator around Sheathed Sword. ;-)
GT^Commish> Maniac: It would, if the Net Node wans't rushed.
    Mania^gov> True too. :-)
herc2> re unRC You're closest Advise chances
GT^Commish> our chances are 14-15, against us.
    herc2> If it attacks us
    * Mania^gov slaps The-Evangelion-Freak around a bit with a large trout
GT^Commish> If we don't attack, the worm will probably kill us, even if we do the Trance routine, but there's a
rover on the which might help.
Mania^gov> how many minerals are there currently stored at UNRC?
    herc2> so suicide maybe
    GT^Commish> Maniac: 5
GT^Commish> Herc: We can probably do a bit of damage to the worm, even if we don't survive,.
Mania^gov> Can't we rush some 9 min unit? That shouldn't cost too much
herc2> Ok we might just win
Mania^gov> And now just wait and do nothing
GT^Commish> Maniac: Now that's an idea.
Mania^gov> That was done to save Terminal Dogma from a mind worm rape.
GT^Commish> We can rush a Trance scout Patrol for only 16 ECs.
    GT^Commish> Shall we do it?
    herc2> Do that anyway
GT^Commish> Ok. I'll let the Scout Patrol buy us some time.
Mania^gov> They shall protect the base to the last man!
GT^Commish> It would cost 10 ECs to give it Trance too.
    GT^Commish> do that?
    herc2> do that
    Mania^gov> sure
    GT^Commish> 2230 complete.

      GT^Commish> f8CKing hell.
GT^Commish> This game really does not like DBTS.
      Mania^gov> Yes?
GT^Commish> DEM just had another outbreak of teh Promotheus Virus.
Mania^gov> Another natural disaster GT^Commish> Yes.
      Mania^gov> Great. :-(
      GT^Commish>
Mania^gov> Is that the third time?
GT^Commish> This is what ahppens when you let the HGP go.
      GT^Commish> Maniac: No, second.
GT^Commish> But it's the third time Aurillion has had a ntural disaster, and no other region has ever had one.
GT^Commish> Except that earthquake in Concordia, but that was from a pod.
      Mania^gov> Bad climate.
GT^Commish> btw, the worms just attacked UNRC and lost.
      Mania^gov> haha :-D
      herc2> good
GT^Commish> I think it was the old troops, too.
      GT^Commish> f*ck.
      Mania^gov> ****
      herc2> f**k
GT^Commish> Fungal pop near TA, which produced worms, and UNMI is rioting.
GT^Commish> I'm using doctors in UNMI, but we need to kill those worms.
Mania^gov> Oh darn. :-( Where is that pop relative to TA? NE-NE or so??
      Mania^gov> Close to the crawlers?
Mania^gov> You have a gatling infantry right? That should be ok I hope...
herc2> may also need to upgrade crawlers
      GT^Commish> Yep, NENE
GT^Commish> And yes, we have a Gatlign infantry, but just to be on the safe side, I'm building an Empath Rover
      in TBIBTU.
      herc2> how many worms
      GT^Commish> 3.
      GT^Commish> All in different squares.
      GT^Commish>
      Mania^gov>
      Mania^gov> that's worse than i thought...
GT^Commish> It will cost 41 ECs to rush it.
      herc2> That is bad
      GT^Commish> So, can I?
      herc2> have to rush it
GT^Commish> That's the onyl way to get it in time.
Mania^gov> Sure. Btw, don't forget to write down the ecs you rushed for TKG!!
      GT^Commish> yes, I'm doing that.
      herc2> yes of course
GT^Commish> There's only one crawler in immediate danger, and I'm evacuating him.
GT^Commish> Herc: Can I upgrade the Gatling In TA to have empath for 30 ECs?
herc2> very cheap at the price yes
GT^Commish> ok then, bring 'em on I say
herc2> As DPO I thought I spend more time defend external enemies, not attacks from within
      herc2> defending
herc2> As I was going to ask did all the build orders get completed
      GT^Commish> yes.
GT^Commish> Unless you mean your requests.
      GT^Commish> In which case, no.
      herc2> Oh
      GT^Commish> Maniac refused.
      herc2> which
Mania^gov> Have you read my post at the Command Centre?
GT^Commish> anyway, just something I noticed about the Virus outbreak: It hit ZG as well.
      GT^Commish> Herc: all
GT^Commish> Maniac: One thing I did note is that most of the units there were Police infantry which you built
      for internal security.
      * Mania^gov crawls into a corner, waiting for Herc' anger.
GT^Commish> So you can't really complain that the miltiary is bleeding you dry.
      Mania^gov> Indeed.
Mania^gov> The fact still remains I'm already spending a large amount of minerals on support.
Mania^gov> Perhaps I could upgrade some police infantries to police plasma sentinels, but that's about it I
      guess.
      herc2> that will be fine
GT^Commish> btw, you know that our income now stands at 95?
Mania^gov> Once I no longer have to support all those CPs and police infantries, there will be room again for
      other units.
Mania^gov> Ah, how much cash do we have then? now
      GT^Commish> 820.
GT^Commish> It's mainly because i just went through centralis and turned my nturient-only workers into
      tehcnicians.
Mania^gov> Darn. I'd prefer a reserve of about 1000 ec.
Mania^gov> But they don't profit from the +20% research bonus
Mania^gov> Hence I went for librarians.
GT^Commish> The research bonus doesn't give you more points, it reduces tech costs.
herc2> I am still concerned about our falling behind in tech hows the probes and foils
Mania^gov> Then how come the university and the consciousness often have research points with decimals after
      the comma?
Mania^gov> For example the first UoP base often produces 2.4 or 3.6 instead of 2 or 3 research points.
      GT^Commish> No idea.
      Mania^gov> => effect of +2 research
GT^Commish> Yes, i just checked, and you're right.
GT^Commish> funny, I never knew that before.
GT^Commish> I went with technicians because even turning all of them into librarians wouldn't speed up our
      research any more.
Mania^gov> You learn something new every day. :-)
      herc2> nor I
GT^Commish> Herc: What do you want done with all the formers otuside Cyclops?
Mania^gov> Well they would as gathered research points are never lost. Contrary to Industry where only the end
      cost changes.
herc2> how many and did drogue giveany instructions
GT^Commish> No, he gave no orders at all, and there are 5, two with movement.
GT^Commish> btw, should I speak to Zakh about a tech trade?
      Mania^gov> I abstain...
herc2> A mixture of building forest, claering fungus and complete building road to Aurora
Mania^gov> I wouldn't mind stealing AdvMilAlg from them anyway, as they're almost toast anyway.
GT^Commish> Well, wouldn't ti be better to trade for it, so they're not qutie so toast?
      GT^Commish> Herc: ok then.
Mania^gov> I'll let you and Hercules decide. :-)
herc2> It crucial we get AMA try trade first
      GT^Commish> f*cking hell.
      GT^Commish> The game just crashed.
      Mania^gov> Ouch.
GT^Commish> I shall see if I've got an autosave of it; otherwise we may lost at UNRC next time.
      GT^Commish>
Mania^gov> How often do you save?
      GT^Commish> I have one.
GT^Commish> I save pretty much every turn, but the last one was at the end of 2230, before the worms attacked.
GT^Commish> Okay, talking to Zakh again.
GT^Commish> He wants us to attack miriam, as usual.
      GT^Commish> refused.
GT^Commish> Now he wants to trade AAA for Nonlinear Maths.
      GT^Commish> Hell yes!
      Mania^gov>
      herc2> yes
GT^Commish> Now he wants us to give him Adv Sub theory for free.
GT^Commish> Might as well give it; comm jammers would be quite useful for him.
      Mania^gov> Does Yang have it???????
Mania^gov> If not, we shouldn't give it to Zak!
      herc2> good point
GT^Commish> No, he doesn't, but why not?
herc2> yang will get and prototypes
      GT^Commish> what?
Mania^gov> We don't want our rovers facing our own ECM technology stolen by Yang from Zakharov.
      GT^Commish> Ok.
      GT^Commish> Refuse, then.
      herc2> refuse
      GT^Commish> He wants a Treaty.
      GT^Commish> Accept?
      * Mania^gov 1
      herc2> accept
GT^Commish> Now he's praising us for our pursuit of Knowledge.
GT^Commish> shall we try for a Pact,t ry to co-ordinate battle plans, or end contact.
Mania^gov> Pact! :-) Should work as we're knowledge
GT^Commish> If we do battle plans, we get his maps.
      herc2> need dir foreign affairs
GT^Commish> Ok: goodwill and friendship, name your price, or something else?
      herc2> goodwill and frienship
      Mania^gov> For pact?
      GT^Commish> yes.
      Mania^gov> g & f
GT^Commish> "I am not itnerested under those terms."
GT^Commish> He wants soemthing for it.
      GT^Commish> Tech, probably.
      Mania^gov> Bad luck for him.
      GT^Commish> Why?
GT^Commish> We can still offer soemthing for it.
      herc2> a tech yang has
GT^Commish> Shall we see what hew ants?
Mania^gov> Is it worth it? It's his problem if he doesn't want a pact with us. And what do we have to gain by a
pact? Not much in his current state.
      GT^Commish> commerce and maps.
Mania^gov> At least not enough to make it worth giving him something.
GT^Commish> What do we have to lose?
      herc2> just time
GT^Commish> As long as it isn't ECs or an important tech, we lose nothing.
      herc2> Ok
Mania^gov> Shouldn't we wait and let the DFA poll it?
GT^Commish> Ok, he's still angling for Adv Sub Theory.
GT^Commish> We refused last time, shal we give it this time?
herc2> I agree with that but it may be too late
      Mania^gov> You know my opinion.
      GT^Commish> Herc?
      herc2> No
Mania^gov> I wash my hands in innocence.
GT^Commish> Ok, shall we try to co-ordiante battle plans, at least?
      herc2> yes
GT^Commish> Then we get his maps.
      Mania^gov> Ok then. :-)
Mania^gov> And Yang as well with some bad luck. ;-)
GT^Commish> Ok, he wants us to attack New Azarmas wiuth forces we don't have, assisting him in attacking with
      forces he doesn't have.
GT^Commish> I can't think of a better plan, can you?
      herc2> that' s oK
      Mania^gov> Strategic brilliance!!! :-D
GT^Commish> Ok, we got some extra info: we've confirmed that Miriam is where we thought she was, and we've got
      some more sea mapped out.
      herc2> anything worth exploring there
      GT^Commish> Not particularly.
GT^Commish> Yang will have a needljet in 2 turns, btw.
herc2> I know how close are we to stealing
Mania^gov> And how many tiles is the closest Hivean base seperated from Terminal Dogma?
GT^Commish> Herc: Not very, unfortunately, unless you want tot ry stealing from top security bases.
      GT^Commish> Maniac: i'll check.
      GT^Commish> We're safe.
      GT^Commish> 13 squares.
      Mania^gov> Woohoo!
herc2> No i don't but which is the closest unprobed base we cam reach before thennedlejet comes into play
GT^Commish> We cannot reach any such bases before it appears.
herc2> There is a fair amount of sea fungus in between too
GT^Commish> We'll have to spend 2 turns in the danger zone, at least.
GT^Commish> Yes, we can possibly hide in that, asusming the AI doesn't cheat and spot us.
      Mania^gov> he does.
herc2> we maybe need a new foil probe
      GT^Commish> Maybe.
GT^Commish> I need to go to the toilet, brb.
      Mania^gov> ok
      GT^Commish> Ok, I'm back.
herc2> How often have we probed the Hive can anyone recall
      GT^Commish> Twice, I think.
GT^Commish> Or three times, if you count infiltration.
      herc2> At the same base
GT^Commish> And the base at 14,54 is about to be built.
GT^Commish> Herc: Steal tech & infiltrate at one, another tech steal at another.
GT^Commish> Choice of names: Metropolis, Egregion and Ankh-Morpork.
herc2> how close is the less probed base
GT^Commish> Infiltration doesn't count for high security.
herc2> re names Egregion or Metro I thought we had alrady used Ankh - morpork
GT^Commish> no, ti was suggested, that's all.
GT^Commish> The closest base we haven't stolen from is Communal Nexus; it's several turns away.
herc2> we have two probes we only need one to succeed
GT^Commish> Do you wan tus to actually steal from a high security base?
GT^Commish> I suppose we can try.
GT^Commish> And I guess it would be worth the price.
      GT^Commish> Maniac - names?
      * GT^Commish slaps mMniac
      GT^Commish> Maniac
      Mania^gov> Err.. yes?
      Mania^gov> Names
      GT^Commish> Out Metropolis, Egregion & Ankh-Morpork.
GT^Commish> It's your base, you pick.
Mania^gov> Ankh-Morpork after all? Metropolis seems so casual and I have no idea what Egregion means.
      GT^Commish> I think it's a play from Egregious, i.e. horrible.
GT^Commish> Ok, Ankh-Morpork it is then.
      Mania^gov> Who proposed it btw?
      Mania^gov> the name
      GT^Commish> Egregion?
      GT^Commish> No idea.
      Mania^gov> Ankhie
      GT^Commish> Ditto.
Mania^gov> Darn. I'll have to look through pages of suggestions. :-(
      * herc3 has joined #smacdg
GT^Commish> Herc: Do you want us to actually steal from a high security base?
herc3> let me check where command Nexus is
      * Mania^gov has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer)
      GT^Commish> The Hive.
      * Mania^gov has joined #smacdg
Mania^gov> "Connection reset by peer" ????
herc3> I thought you menat the base
      herc3> meant
      Mania^gov> Did I disappear for a while?
      GT^Commish> Yes.
      herc3> yes like me
GT^Commish> Herc: The foil exploring down south just ran into an IoD
      GT^Commish> In the fungus.
      GT^Commish> run?
      herc3> run
GT^Commish> Also, the foil north oft eh Hive has found a pod. pop?
herc3> have we probed the Labourers' horde
      GT^Commish> Yes.
      herc3> yes
GT^Commish> you mean, yes to pop?
      herc3> yes to pod
      GT^Commish>
      GT^Commish> Another IoD
GT^Commish> And we have no movement now.
      GT^Commish> Still, we have Trance
GT^Commish> Now, can you please make up your mind about whether to probe a high-security base?
herc3> building a foil probe I feel is urgent, not sure from where though
herc3> re High security base seek views two probes?
      GT^Commish> What?
herc3> what in view are the chances of success
      herc3> your view
GT^Commish> With two excellent probe teams, the chances of failure are about zero; I'm just worried about the
chances of them coming home alive.
      * herc2 has quit IRC (Ping timeout)
herc3> we need the techs. I hope they do come home alive. we've trained them to the best of their ability
      GT^Commish> Ok then.
GT^Commish> Expect results in three turns, one way or the other.
      herc3> Ok
      herc3> Anyone disagree
GT^Commish> Now, what to do with that transport foil with two probes?
GT^Commish> keep sending it up to The Hive to assassinate researchers?
      GT^Commish> And sabotage?
      herc3> yes
      GT^Commish> 2231 complete.
GT^Commish> Ok, the foil north of the Hive beat the IoD - just.
Mania^gov> What is the Concordian nutrient and drone status in MY 2232? And is the hab complex in Pandemonium
ready? If so, how's the food and drone situation there?
GT^Commish> Haven't got to that yet.
      herc3> close thing
      Mania^gov> ok
GT^Commish> Yang has just seized Climatic research with a Mind Contro, Rpobe.
      GT^Commish> Mind Control Probe
GT^Commish> Morgan is now working on the HSa as well.
GT^Commish> And he's just sent a CP over the border, for some strange reason.
      herc3> hmmm
      Mania^gov> as well...
GT^Commish> Ok, those worms near TA are HISTORY
GT^Commish> And we get Doctrine: initiave next turn.
GT^Commish> plus, the borehole outside TA just got done as well.
herc3> Yes Initiataive, what tech are we researching next?. NO borehole
GT^Commish> About the tech: no idea.
GT^Commish> there hasn't been any poll on it.
      herc3> that's what I thought
GT^Commish> So, we either decide it here and now, or we stop the chat before we get it.
herc3> we can choose something and always change for a penalty cost
      GT^Commish> agreed.
GT^Commish> I think the next tech we go for should be Fusion Power.
      Mania^gov>
GT^Commish> Okay, the 1959 base is also ready to be buitl now.
      GT^Commish> Egregion or Metropolis?
      Mania^gov> Metropolis?
herc3> I was thinking Superstring but have we the earlier techs
      Mania^gov> I wouldn't want a base called "horrible".
GT^Commish> yes, but fusion Power is a great ech, and leads to Fusion Lasers, which trump Chaos guns.
      herc3> whatever name you wish
      GT^Commish> Maniac: So, Metropolis then?
      Mania^gov> sure
      Mania^gov> ok
GT^Commish> We just got a bureacracy warning.
      GT^Commish> Just so you know.
Mania^gov> Well I would have preferred to stop expanding a loooong while ago.
herc3> re tech happy to go with majority
GT^Commish> Ok, one of the southern scout patrols has now found a pod. pop?
herc3> I always lose these wait for a strong unit maybe
      GT^Commish> Like what?
GT^Commish> They aren't any strong units down there.
      herc3> well upgrade to trance
      GT^Commish> there
      GT^Commish> ok
      GT^Commish> Pop next turn.
      herc3> yes
GT^Commish> The southern foil has found a pod too.
      GT^Commish> pop?
      herc3> turns left
      GT^Commish> 3.
GT^Commish> maniac: We now have over a thousand ECs.
      Mania^gov> good. :-)
      GT^Commish> Herc?
herc3> go for it Maniac agree?
      GT^Commish>
      GT^Commish> Found 150 ECs.
      herc3> drinks on me

GT^Commish> Now we have something of a problem: the northern foil is within reach of the Hive needlejets and is
        badly damaged.
herc3> is that foil laser or probe
        GT^Commish> laser.
Mania^gov> And we can't move out of range?
        GT^Commish> Hopefully.
GT^Commish> If we move north two squares, I think ti should be out of range.
        herc3> well do that
Mania^gov> Besides, wasn't there a missile foil being produced at one of the northern Hivean bases as well? We
might be toasted by that ship as well.
        GT^Commish> yes, but that's ages.
        GT^Commish> away.
Mania^gov> In MY 2228 I believe it was three years from completion
        Mania^gov> or not
GT^Commish> Having double-checked, i don't think it will be out of range after all, but it's the only hop we've
        got.
herc3> yes that foil is due soon
Mania^gov> Indeed. Nothing more we can do about it, so no use worrying.
GT^Commish> Okay, Morgan has now moved another CP into our territory, and we have him on the phone.
        Mania^gov> Who called who?
GT^Commish> I expect he's going to cancel our Pact due to us being Planned.
        GT^Commish> He called us.
GT^Commish> I don't really have much choice, so I'm accepting the call.
herc3> This is now not funny but it is a job for Foreign relations we need to stallas much as possible unless
        there are othere orders
Mania^gov> I believe we had a gatling rover in Morgan's neighbourhood.
        GT^Commish> Yes,w e do.
GT^Commish> He wants us to give him SFF in return for Miriam's maps.
Mania^gov> We get the maps anyway.
herc3> It buys us time until we poll and he is very weak
GT^Commish> Yes, but if we don't give the tech, he'll probably cancel the Pact.
GT^Commish> Which will mean we don't get the maps.
Mania^gov> if he's about to cancel the pact, now or in the immediate future, we don't want him having missile
        technology.
herc3> no wooried yet about the maps
        Mania^gov> But I'm outvoted apparently. :-(
        herc3> Not necessarily
herc3> I am for pace after all
        herc3> peace
        GT^Commish> So, do the deal?
        herc3> for peace sake yes
Mania^gov> Maintain peace by giving weapons? A dilemma...
GT^Commish> Even if he does get missiles, we can still whip his ass.
        herc3> he's not strong
Mania^gov> Oh well. he'll provide a better challenge in any case.
GT^Commish> Okay, he's researching Planetary Economics and want sus to research Fusion Power (which we want to
        do anyway).
        GT^Commish> Should that beall?
        GT^Commish> be all
        herc3> fine
GT^Commish> Okay, we now have Doc:Init.
        Mania^gov> and the choices are:
        GT^Commish> D:AP
herc3> I agree go for fusion
        GT^Commish> Centauri Meditation
        GT^Commish> Fusion Power
        GT^Commish> Silsteel Alloys
        GT^Commish> Planetary Economics
        GT^Commish> Supserstring theory
        GT^Commish> Neural Grafting
        herc3> they're all tempting
        GT^Commish> I agree.
GT^Commish> But Fusion beats the others hands down.
Mania^gov> I'd still go for Fusion Power myself, as that's a high level tech and chances are we can't pick it
        next time.
        GT^Commish> Okay, Fusion it is.
        GT^Commish>
        GT^Commish>
        GT^Commish> Mysidia is rioting.
        herc3> party
        Mania^gov> drone party?
        GT^Commish> As is Crystalis.
        herc3> they're celebrating !!!
        GT^Commish> Unfortunately it's a rather disruptive celbration.
Mania^gov> The fireworks torched the base. Maybe they were a little overenthusiastic?
        Mania^gov> Any other riots?
GT^Commish> Concordia just built it's Command Centre, and nothign else seems to ahve happened.
        Mania^gov> ok
        Mania^gov> :-)
GT^Commish> The Missile Needlejet is just sitting there, rather than flying out to attack our ship. I'm getting
        it properly out of range.
herc3> Is this my area of responsibility to control drone riots
herc3> Or a general responsibility as Dir
        Mania^gov> Governor responsibility.
GT^Commish> No, it's the governor's responsibility, or mine, in their absence.
Mania^gov> But predicting drone riots seven years ahead with pop booming in the meanwhile is like impossible.
        herc3> Leave it to you
        herc3> But will back decision
Mania^gov> The only thing one could do to prevent it, is check the F4 screen at the end of every turn and check
out every base which has as much drones as talents.
GT^Commish> Maniac: pop boom actually makes it easier, because you know that the base will grow every turn.
GT^Commish> Now, we're about to steal tech from the Hive.
        herc3> anxious
GT^Commish> I'm first trying with the Veteran team: chances of stealing 67%, chances of surviving 50%.
GT^Commish> Okay, we got the files, but they died coming out.
        GT^Commish> f*cking Hiverians.
Mania^gov> Are the chances of survival mentioned?? never noticed that
GT^Commish> Yes, it's the second percentage.
herc3> Brave team, we should erect memorail oand ask pab=nde to make film
GT^Commish> Now, I vote we blow something up inside the base just to show how pissed we are.
Mania^gov> It's too long ago I played. I start forgetting things.
        herc3> memorial and ask Pande
GT^Commish> And we should blow something up, too.
GT^Commish> Pity we can't cause any drone riots there.
herc3> what about the second team : bring them home ?
        herc3> oh you mean sabotage
        GT^Commish> Yes.
GT^Commish> They'll get ohm equicker that way anyway.
        GT^Commish> home
Mania^gov> Citizens would get killed in such an action. :-(
herc3> not sabotaging production or introducing riots#
Mania^gov> Blowng up factories while the children are performing their daily labour there?
GT^Commish> No, switching the machinery off.
        herc3> fair point maniac
        Mania^gov> By placing a bomb?
GT^Commish> No, with a computer virus.
herc3> a spanner in the works
GT^Commish> That's what sabotage is: releasing a computer virus.
        Mania^gov> I hope so.
Mania^gov> Anyway, Hercules, what will we do?
GT^Commish> "It's too long ago I played. I start forgetting things."
Mania^gov> The decision is yours for all I care.
GT^Commish> Ok, chances of success are 100%, of survival are 84%
herc3> I don't think children or adults will be killed just as you say disruption so go for it
GT^Commish> The Children's Creche has been switche doff.
Mania^gov> Aha! Now they can't follow "apprenticeship" anymore! ;-)
GT^Commish> Not the best choice of miltiary targets, but it will still throw a major spanner in the works there.
        GT^Commish>
herc3> did our boy get home
        GT^Commish> Yes.
GT^Commish> I would have mentioned it if they hadn't.
GT^Commish> Okay, I just poppe dthe southern pod, and we found some nturients inside.
herc3> Our spin needs to be on the tech stolen not the sabotaging of the cooling system that warms he creche
        GT^Commish>
GT^Commish> There's another pod next to the first one we found.
        herc3> wait
GT^Commish> We cna't open it yet anyway.
        GT^Commish> No movement.
GT^Commish> Now, what shoudl we build in Cyclops after the former?
        herc3> recycling
herc3> not a creche just yet
GT^Commish> All right, now, the foil down south has found another pod in the fungus.
        GT^Commish> It has full movement.
        GT^Commish> Pop?
        herc3> pop
        GT^Commish>
        GT^Commish> Kelp farms.
        herc3> at least no danger
GT^Commish> btw, the University garrison of Bibliotyek Letters is seriously f*cked.
GT^Commish> They have only two units left, one of them badly damaged, and they're surrounded by Hiverians.
Mania^gov> Is it the last base?
GT^Commish> No, they have two others, but if they lose it, they lose the last bit of the Garland Crater, and
the other two bases are tiny.
GT^Commish> It's as big as the other two put together.
        Mania^gov> pity :-(
GT^Commish> shall we try making peace with Santiago yet?
herc3> nothing we can do but we need to think defensively in that area. He has a large attacking force
        GT^Commish> Well? Shal we?
        Mania^gov> sure
Mania^gov> Not that there's any chance she'll want truce IMHO
GT^Commish> And after this chat, I'll start an unofficial poll on whether we should give Zakh asylum here (i.e.
give him a tiny base somewhere on the periphery until we can recapture his abses).
GT^Commish> She asked us for 625 ECs, and of course I tolf her to go to hell, so she broke the contact.
herc3> Btw Drogue set out orders for cyclops and Akiria surely somewhere
Mania^gov> I'd give him UN Research Complex. TKG should like that
        GT^Commish> 2233 complete.
GT^Commish> Concordia has rioted again, but at least it's hit the pop limit.
        Mania^gov> How so? It's 16.
        GT^Commish> That's the limit.
Mania^gov> Ah it has already reached that. Gooood!
        GT^Commish> yes, it's reached it.
Mania^gov> Well then I'd suggest to make the nutrient surplus as low as possible
GT^Commish> And I don't think you'll have to worry about worms for a while, either.
Mania^gov> As little doctors as needed to get talent-drone break even (or one talent more) and the rest
        librarian
GT^Commish> Well, I can take one of the fungus workers and make him a Librarians.
Mania^gov> empath recon rover finished? More -ing
        GT^Commish> No more.
GT^Commish> And, yes, the rover's finished.
        Mania^gov> That's good enough. :-)
Mania^gov> If I may ask, how's Pandemonium doing regarding pop and drones?
GT^Commish> pop 9, hab complex finsihed, and the police can deal with 1 more drone.
GT^Commish> no talents though, for some reason
Mania^gov> OK, then next turn one librarian should switch to a doctor.
        herc3> going for refreshment
Mania^gov> Re librarians: I noticed too, for some reason the computer takes a talent citizen away first when
        creating a librarian specialist.
GT^Commish> Maybe just because talents make the best librarians? That would make sense.
        Mania^gov> Hmmm. Indeed.
GT^Commish> btw, what should I so with those formers building a mine near Concrodia?
GT^Commish> They've finsiehd, and have no roders.
        Mania^gov> What group of formers?
        Mania^gov> which mine?
        GT^Commish> Yes.
        GT^Commish> S,SW
Mania^gov> there were three mines planned.
        Mania^gov> oh ok
Mania^gov> let them start a borehole near Valhalla I guess
Mania^gov> Let me grab a picture
Mania^gov> Borehole number gray - two in the borehole poll
        Mania^gov> W-SW of Valhalla.
        GT^Commish> Thanks.
        Mania^gov> no prob
GT^Commish> Hang on, that would replace on of the mines you wanted for Concordia.
        Mania^gov> Hé?
        GT^Commish> sorry, one square off.
        GT^Commish> or rather, you were
        GT^Commish> It's 2 squares SW.
        Mania^gov> Ah yes of course!
GT^Commish> Should the 4 formers just N of that help out too?
Mania^gov> If any of the other southern formers are finished with their job, let them help too.
        Mania^gov> So yes. :-)
GT^Commish> Well, you should have your borehole at the start of the enxt chat.
herc3> Protest group from Akiria leave to picket boreholes
Mania^gov> And if they would build that borehole in record time, the next one planned was one tile SE of
        Valhalla.
        Mania^gov> Hey I can't help it!
        Mania^gov> The people wanted it!
GT^Commish> Herc: send in the tanks.
Mania^gov> Anyway, it's now only seven hours until I have to get out of bed again. I at least want six or seven
hours of sleep, so I'll leave now. See ye all. :-)
        GT^Commish> bye.

Total seesion expenditure on rushing was 489 ECs; by region, it was:

          Centralis: 221

          Jedinica Vrijstaat: 134

          Aurillion Province: 98

          Twin Sea: 26

            Great work.

The economy's starting to hum quite nicely... net income of 111/turn even under the current less-than-optimal system. It goes to 131/turn under Green 50/0/50, and to 187/turn under FM 40/20/40. Oh, and we have a pool of 1484 ECs to swim in

            • #7
Yup. Moreover, under FM 40/20/40, we have no need for any more specialists at all, and we also get a number of GAs.

Oh, and just an interesting statistic I noticed - apparently Centralis now produces more than half of all our gross economic production, and nearly 60% of the budget surplus.

No rushes in Akiria? I know I didn't post orders in the orders thread (didn't get home yesterday until 0:00 GMT ) but it was in the Akiria thread, and ratified by TKG. Anyways, no grumble, and sorry about not posting orders

Was it? Damn. Sorry, I should have checked at least to see if you'd posted in the Akiria thread. I hope I didn't do too much damage acting without orders.

I guess next time I should just post the orders thread ASAP, eh?

That's a lot. What exactly do you mean by gross economic production? Total energy production (thereby not taking specialists into account) or total credit production?

Edit: Oh yes, just wondering, how long did the chat still last after I left? There doesn't seem to have been said much more.

It's again time for my bimonthly rant about our commissioner.

While General_Tacticus has been our best Commissioner until now IMHO (playing six-seven turns no matter how long it takes, following orders up well), I'm afraid that regarding Jedinica Vrijstaat there have been quite a few mistakes this session. I hope GT won't get more and more "flexible" with the orders as time passes, as happened to DBTS end of November due to DBTS' understandable lack of time. Therefore I'd like to post a list with the orders not followed, along with a few other questions, and ask if they were somehow unclear, so I can hopefully write more clear orders next time.

I'm still finding more mistakes while I'm writing this, so I may have missed some. But here's the current lost of questionable things I spotted:

The two Sheathed Swordan police infantries haven't been rehomed to their new bases. Hercules had given approval for that action.

The Sheathed Swordan trance scout defensive hasn't followed the former group north as protection. Hercules had given his approval for that action.

My build queue list for Sheathed Sword was: CP, police infantry, CP, rec tanks, hab complex.
The one GT used seemed to have been: CP, police infantry, CP, police infantry, CP, rec tanks, hab complex.

Metropolis is currently building a trance plasma sentinels. I asked for a former. It may be your personal opinion that a plasma sentinels was best due to its proximity to the Hive, but why haven't you asked so to me in the chat? IIRC I was still present at the moment Metropolis was built. You just acted on your own accord, ignoring the fact that I am still the governor of Metropolis until our DIA TKG relieves me of that duty.

Q: Why hasn't Pandemonium boomed? Why is it still at population 90000? IIRC in MY 2228 the hab complex should have been completed in MY 2232. I also thought you had mentioned its completion somewhere in the chat, although I had no idea then which MY it actually was at that time. Normally, presuming it was completed in MY 2232 or 2233, Pandemonium should now be at size 11 or 12. I find this very annoying, as I wanted the Jedinican bases to grow a high as possible before we went Green, which is, I must admit, *currently* the SE choice which is least in Jedinica's interest and which I want least of all three.

To (14.54) and (19.59). No clue about the third. Somewhere in the northern direction.
Lacking orders from TKG regarding the third CP from Sheathed Sword, I posted the above ones. I admit the order for the third CP is rather vague but still. In the chat I also mentioned Hercules wanted a base in the peninsula NE of Terminal Dogma. However now that CP is heading south. Without asking anything about in the chat.

                              Now, former orders...

I clearly asked for three of those five formers in the north to go build a borehole on (19.63). I thought you would be thrilled by more boreholes. But instead of a borehole on (19.63), you constructed an unasked mine on (17.59) and a forest on (19.63). Also there are two formers on tile (18.62) on a xenofungus tile. I have no intention whatsoever to clear fungus on that tile. So now I have to call them back and our terraformation projects have been slowed down for months.

The former on (13.56) is building a solar collector while I never asked for that. I first wanted to poll the Jedinican citizens what to construct in the Sheathed Swordan neighbourhood. Instead I asked to build a forest on (16.64) which hasn't been done.

How did a forest arise on (13.77)? Did it spread there? And how come there isn't a forest on (13.75) as requested?

                              That's about it I think.
