  • Unofficial: Jedinica Vrijstaat foci

This is an unofficial multichoice three day poll for all citizens of the United Nations. Please vote once in every category.

I'd like to know, with the coming election campaign in mind and because the Plan Bureau wants to make its next five-year-plan, what's the opinion of the common citizen about what should be produced in the Jedinican bases. Of course, doing all options would be preferable. But we only have a limited amount of minerals, eg improving our infrastructure would slow down the build-up of our military. So we need to decide what to focus on first before we move on to the next item on the list. The options I could come up with are:

    Population boom
by building condensers, nutrient convoying crawlers, children's chreches, drone facilities and perhaps tree farms.

    Maximizing minerals
by building mines, forests and mineral convoying crawlers. We would increase the mineral production of each base to the maximum allowed by our clean mineral limit before proceeding to other builds.

    Infrastructure build-up
by building all kinds of non-military base facilities that increase our happiness, economy-, research- and psych production.

    Colonization and exploration
by building colony pods, police garrisons, perhaps probes and some scout rovers.

    Militarization
by building command centres and military units.

    My current focuses are:
    1. Population boom
    2. Maximizing minerals (normally this would be first, but there is too little terraformation to place crawlers on right now)
    3. Not decided

As this is an unofficial poll, I guess I can give my personal opinion: I wouldn't colonize anymore to the north. After we have filled the area south of the Freshwater Sea, I think we'll have about twenty bases. This seems enough to me. Also, we are colonizing further and further from our HQ. As a result, due to our inherent PK low efficiency, about all energy is lost to corruption etcetera. Just have a look at Terminal Dogma. It's producing tons of energy, but about all is lost. This will be worse more to the north, a moisty very fungal region. IMO it isn't worth the trouble.

I voted popboom, minerals, militarization, infrastructure
That means some minor military units, not a whole army...
Infrastructure as last because of the corruption you mentioned. We should switch to a green democracy first, so that we have a +3 efficiency. Then it is considerable to build research centres that far away from the capital.

ps: I strongly disagree with you about the northern border!!! As soon as we get the efficiency bonus, we should expand far north, as by then some formers will be free to eliminate the fungus! Therefore we should then upgrade them to independent formers... So they won´t need any maintenance.

I expect about everyone to disagree with me on that subject. Several polls in the past have indicated a clear majority for expanding until eternity.
Anyway, if we are to expand to the north, I would suggest these bases to become specialist bases (turning all citizens into engineers etc and let crawlers convoy all nutrients & minerals) as these don't suffer from inefficiency.
Another option (I have only tried it out once though) would be to eliminate our HQ (by moving it to a size 1 base and then disband that base by rushing a CP). That would give all our bases the same level of efficiency all over the faction. Technically all bases are considered to be 16 squares away from the HQ. On a huge map with a large faction this is the majority of bases. I don't recommend this tactic though unless we have at least +4 Efficiency with Demo/Green/Knowledge or when you are playing with the Gaians or Consciousness.

That would be cheating, wouldn´t it? And I don´t think General Tacticus will allow the disbanding of his Capital!!!
anyway, I don´t mean "expanding to eternity", just to the basenumber-limit given by efficiency. For specialist you need at least (5?) citizens in the base, don´t you? (I´m not sure... Or was it in civ...?)

See it as setting up a confederacy instead of a centralist state. Fits well with the current governor system.

For any other specialist than Doctor/Empath/Transcend : yes.

Well, it wouldn't actually get rid of the NA Govt. Palace, just get rid of the centralized administration. However, I don't want to see our HQ disbanded anyway.

Pop boom / minerals / infrastructure / colonization.

We should let Concordia build more of these nice colony pods, though, the ballooning population of Concordia could move a little northern.

                  Pop-boom/Colonization/Infrastructure/none

We need more people, more bases, more facilities ATM. Minerals yes, but not in excess IMHO.
