we have gone to war ladies and gentlemen with the university

we havent got anything to worry about actually because they are not on the same continent and stuff but will this effect our view on the game and what is our position on building up an army and going for military tech? this is the thread to talk about that

I say that after EcoEng, we go for Missile weapons, the Empath Guild, and then ships. This should give us an idea of where Zakharov is and the potential to attack him.

Yes, we need ships now. Probe ships. I bet that tech-hound Zak will be a lot more humble once we've infiltrated him, stolen his map and stolen some tech.

The only problem is that we have absolutely no idea where he is, so we could spend decades hunting fore him. There's no guarantee he's even got any ports to infiltrate.

Just get the technology gents and let me know how many & what With some of our core bases getting up to a passable production level it shouldn't tkae too long to make him think twice (especially probing tech heehee )
But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

One thing some sea probes would be good for, though, would be to Mind Control one or two of his bases, which would humble him comewhat and give our probes a base from which tomoperate, instead of having to run home after every mission.

Like i said, we'll need DocFlex for seaprobes, HEC and SSF for missiles, and SOTHB and CE for the EG. FM would likely be a big help in researching all of these in a timely fashion.

Doesn't matter so much, if we find anyone it will be good. Maybe they can sell us a map of Zakharov's territory.

The sooner we get the Foil, the sooner we can find him, what good are missile launchers if we don't know where Zak is or even know how to get the units to him.

Well, they would be useful for intimidation value, as he'll be less likely to continue the war if he knows we're better armed than him. He told us already that all he had was a 2-1-2 unit.

GT: Given that we have to assume he'll complete the EG, don't you think it would be worthwile to try to learn if we can steal it during this conflict?

Doctrine: Flexibility first for sea probes. Then Intellectual Integrity for the CDF. Then Synthetic Fossil Fuels, getting Plasma on the way. Reason: We need to look to and solidify our defenses beore we attack, and the earlier we are able to probe Zakh the better (particularly if he hasn't been able to equip a navy yet).

As far as the Empath Guild goes, why not get the techs from Zakh? Either probe them or rely on Morgan to trade for them.

                            ok, as for flex:

morgan gets it in 5 turns.

build a bunch of probe foil, send them everywhere, and probe the hell out of him. techs, map, energy, infiltrate, maybe mind control a base? then, we can send over a transport full of missile rovers

I like the sound of that.

What's his military situation? Are we gong to need to start producing blitzkrieg defensive units soon?
