Uh....a large needle entering a persons body injecting a green gas which quickly expands througouth the entire body causing mass pain in all parts of the body. They cought it in and out until finally the poison either simply disappears or leaves the body through other means.

Logical or not, thats what I always think of when I hear nerve stapling or punishment sphere (except thats a bit more brutal).

That's definitely gory. I always thought of nerve stapling as just putting smallish staple-like needles to every major pain centre and stimulating the aforementioned centres with electrical pulses, producing so ultimate pain that death feels like a picnic.

(Er... besides, how exactly would Tass' gas expand inside the body? It would somehow dissolve to the blood circulation and then be transported around the body until it heats enough to start ballooning? Blah, I'm getting too (pseudo)scientific here.)
