  • OFFICIAL : General Idea for sensor arrays

Since it will troubles to make a poll each time with sensor arrays, and dealing with the position of them, I wish to ask the population the general guideline for placing Sensor Arrays, at which I would refer every time for building them.

In case someone disagree with the orders I gave, please let me know by PM and in the thread of Director Orders where it will be posted.

Here are the general ideas I thought of :

    Always on forest
    Wherever, forest or farm
On rocky tiles, to be more easily defended

As close as possible to the base, to avoid loosing sensor arrays in case of border changes
    Wherever possible

Less than one sensor per base
    One sensor per base
    Two sensors per base
Three or more sensors per base

    1. Always on forests

    1. Where appropriate

    2. Less than one per base

    2. One per base
    21.43%
    9
    2. Two per base
    7.14%
    3
    2. Three or plus per base
    2.38%
    1
    3. As close as possible of the base
    0.00%
    0
    3. Where appropriate
    33.33%

        To me thats :
One per base, two sensor arrays are useless
Always on forest : farms can have condensor, mirrors, or other things, so its preferable to put the sensor arrays where they fit : on forests. This is actually the only thing you can build in a forest (apart from roads and magtube, that is)
Position in radius : where best appropriate : if a sensor can protect two bases, its better to have one instead of two. But every city must be protected.

All your ideas sound perfect to this Director, Pande.

Are they neccessary right now? It's not like we've even seen anybody yet.

Excuse me, moomin, IIRC, we seen strange worms with psychic abilities who slaughtered several of our scouts...

Oh, those... Hm. How's science? Are we getting trance any time soon? If we are, the terraforming resources could go toward lots of better, more productive stuff.

If not, it's time to put some sensors down. I'd prefer to do that at future base spots, though. Let's see the enemy blast those sensors away!
